Careers360 Congratulations on your NEET 2024 results! How are your feelings about this achievement?

Prachita: I am thrilled that I got AIR 1 in NEET results. My teachers and my parents are extremely proud right now.

Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. Where did you complete your schooling and what about your family?

Prachita: My father is a school principal and my mother is a superintendent vice principal at ITI college Udawas in Jhunjunu. I have completed my Class 10 from SS Mody School Jhunjunu and Class 10+ 2 from Allen SIP, Jhunjhunu along with my NEET preparations. I have a younger who is in Class brother and I live in a joint family.

Careers360: What motivated you to choose medicine as a career? When did you decide to become a doctor?

Prachita: I was always interested in Biology and Maths, however, my parents suggested to opt for medical.

Careers360: Is this your first attempt?

Prachita: Yes, it was my first attempt.

Careers360: How much time did you devote to self-study?

Prachita: Apart from coaching, I used to dedicate 5-6 hours to self-study, however, the hours varied on the topic. I never emphasised the number of hours I needed to study but to understand the concepts properly.

Careers360: What do you think is better, coaching or self-study?

Prachita: Coaching is always better than studying on your own because you get not only the important study material but also proper guidance. Additionally, in coaching, you get the NEET test series which is extremely important because without the test series, you won’t be able to analyse mistakes and learn time management.

Careers360: Which subject is your weakest, and which is your strongest?

Prachita: In the beginning, I struggled a tad bit with Biology, but later on got a good grip on that. Physics has always been my strongest subject.

Careers360: How was the NEET UG preparation different from the early days to just a month before the exam?

Prachita: My coaching had frequent tests a month before the exam. The focus was on NCERT for Biology. The revision notes for Physics and Chemistry are enough to revise at the last moment. It is important not to take stress during the last month of NEET preparations, as well as, right before the exam. Stress is only going to affect our performance in the exam and we must not waste years of preparation because of it.

Careers360: What was your exam day strategy? What was the toughest and the easiest section, according to you?

Prachita: I followed the strategy I was following while attempting NEET mock tests. I solved Biology at the start, then Physics and then Chemistry. The NEET 2024 question paper was overall easy, there were no controversial questions like last year.

Careers360: Which college is your dream college for studying medicine? What is your aspiration in the field of medicine, and which specialization would you be interested in?

Prachita: I want to get into AIIMS, New Delhi. I haven’t decided on the specialisation yet.

Careers360: To whom do you attribute your successful NEET topper journey?

Prachita: I want to dedicate my success to my teachers and parents.

Careers360: What would you suggest to future NEET aspirants in terms of preparation, attitude, etc?

Prachita: My advice to future NEET aspirants is to revise the concerts consistently, analyse your mistakes and rectify them. Talk to your teachers if you face any difficulties in a particular concept or chapter and be stress-free.
