However, gaps still remain in specialist availability and equitable distribution of healthcare services. Therefore, the steps to create new MBBS seats and PG medical seats have been taken. To support this expansion, the government has also introduced new Faculty Regulations 2025 which will make it easier for medical colleges to hire qualified teachers and maintain quality education standards.
The expansion of MBBS and PG seats in government medical colleges will benefit both the NEET UG aspirants as well as MBBS graduates. With increase in MBBS and PG seats in medical colleges, candidates will have to face less competition for a limited number of seats.
All this will be much clear after it becomes reality but as per the Cabinet approval we can say that the expansion of medical seats will open doors for thousands of aspirants to pursue their dream career. The increase in total number of medical seats in India marks a significant step towards strengthening the medical education of the country.
