The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the NEET registration 2025. Candidates can complete their NEET 2025 registrations from February 7 to March 7, 2025 in online mode. Registration for NEET UG 2025 is the first step for aspiring medical students in India by filling out the application form and applying for admission to undergraduate medical courses like MBBS and BDS.

NTA has revised NEET UG tie-breaking rule. In case two or more candidates obtain equal marks or NEET percentile scores in the exam, the tie will be resolved using the following method.
- Candidate obtaining higher marks, percentile score in biology - botany and zoology, followed by,
- Candidate obtaining higher marks, percentile score in chemistry, followed by,
- Candidate obtaining higher marks/percentile score in physics, followed by,
- Candidate with less proportion of the number of incorrect answers and correct answers in all the subjects,
- Candidate with less proportion of number of incorrect answers and correct answers in biology, followed by
- Candidate with less proportion of number of incorrect answers and correct answers in chemistry, followed by
- Candidate with less proportion of number of incorrect answers and correct answers in physics, followed by
- In case, these criteria are exhausted and tie still persists, it will be resolved through a random process with the guidance of an independent expert committee.
To complete the NEET UG 2025 registration process, applicants will have to follow a few steps. Firstly, they should visit the official website of NEET, neet.ntaonline.in and click on the registration link. On the registration page, candidates will have to provide their basic details such as name, contact details, and email address. Once the basic details are filled in, candidates have to create a password for their NEET account. After creating the password, candidates will receive a registration number on their registered email and mobile number. These credentials will be required for future login purposes. According to the latest NEET exam pattern , the Botany and Zoology sections are still separate within the Biology section, but combined to form a total of 90 questions in the Biology section, with 45 questions each from Botany and Zoology. l
Although considered one "Biology" section, the NEET exam still presents questions distinctly categorized as Botany and Zoology.
Both Botany and Zoology usually have an equal number of questions (45 each) within the Biology section.
The current NEET exam pattern maintains this structure with separate Botany and Zoology sections within the Biology subject.
