The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) every year. The NTA has changed NEET exam pattern. A total of 180 questions will be asked for a duration of 3 hours. NEET 2025 will be held in offline mode for MBBS and BDS admissions in various medical and dental colleges across India. - NTA has revised NEET exam pattern. There will be no Section B in NEET anymore. The NEET exam time will be 3 hours only.
- NTA has clarified that NEET 2025 exam will be conducted in offline mode.
- The NTA has released the syllabus of NEET UG 2025 on it's new NEET official website, neet.nta.ac.in.
- The Radhakrishnan committee set up for the potential changes in NEET 2025 and the NTA both are in favour of the online conduct of NEET UG in CBT mode. If this happens, candidates can expect changes in NEET 2025 exam.
- NMC has published the NEET 2025 syllabus at nmc.org.in. As per the official PDF, there is no change this year in the NEET syllabus.
- NTA in its response said that they are waiting for the expert committee report which is currently evaluating the potential changes in NEET 2025 exam pattern.
- The NTA is likely to announce the NEET exam date 2025 in the January 2025 . The experts committee which was reviewing NEET 2025 exam pattern, has submitted its report to the education ministry. The official authority will announce the possible changes soon along with the NEET exam calendar 2025.
Amid the ongoing discussions about shifting the NEET 2025 exam mode to online, RTI activist, Dr. Vivek Pandey wrote to NTA citing that if NEET UG 2025 is shifted to online mode in multiple shifts, then it could affect the students from economically weaker sections due to the limited access to technology and internet.

NEET UG exam date 2025
The NEET exam 2025 date will be announced by NTA soon. However, it is expected that the NEET 2025 will be conducted on May 4, 2025 from 2 PM to 5.20 PM across India and abroad. Meanwhile, no official notification from the NTA has been released yet. Last year, over 24 lakh candidates registered for NEET. This year, the number is expected to increase making the entrance test even more challenging.
NEET 2025 syllabus unchanged
The NMC and NTA has released the syllabus for NEET UG 2025 exam. The authority has not made any changes in the NEET 2025 syllabus which is similar to the last year's NEET syllabus.
NEET UG 2025 latest news
A seven-member expert committee submitted its report to the education ministry on the conduct of NEET 2025 exam. The panel recommended several changes in NEET 2025 which include a hybrid model, fewer attempts, a two-stage exam, digital NEET question papers and more. However, NTA has clarified that there is no change in the NEET 2025 exam mode. NEET 2025 exam will be conducted in offline mode. The expert committee was set up by the Supreme Court after the objections were raised by the RTI activists about the NEET UG exam.
NEET 2025 latest updates on exam pattern
The NEET exam pattern 2025 has changed. As per the latest notice, the NEET question paper will carry of 180 MCQs. The NTA has removed optional question choices from NEET paper, then as per the latest NEET exam pattern, only 180 questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.
NEET attempt restrictions 2025
Currently, there is no limit on the number of attempts for the NEET Exam, however as per media reports, the NTA can bring back the NEET attempt restrictions in 2025. Earlier, before 2018, there were restrictions over the maximum number of attempts for each candidate, but later the authorities removed these restrictions to bring some sense of relief to the students.
NEET 2025 Biometric Attendance Updates
As per various media reports, there might be an introduction of Biometric attendance in NEET 2025 to avoid cases of impersonation and cheating. Till now, the attendance of students is taken offline which is time-consuming and has a risk of cheating. To ensure fair practice, the NTA is likely to introduce a biometric attendance system in NEET UG 2025.
New exam centres in NEET 2025
In NEET 2024, over 24 lakh students participated in the exam. This number is likely to be increased in NEET 2025. This might lead to an increase in NEET 2025 exam centres. Also, if NEET 2025 was to be conducted in online and in multiple shifts, then more exam centres were required to conduct the online exam smoothly. However, now NEET 2025 will be conducted in offline mode.
