Careers360: Geetansh, congratulations on your performance. To begin with, how many marks have you scored in Re NEET 2026? Also, how many marks were you expecting in the original NEET UG 2026 exam that was later cancelled?

Geetansh: Thank you. I have scored 705 marks in Re NEET 2026. Interestingly, I was expecting the same score - 705 marks in the cancelled NEET UG 2026 examination as well.

Careers360: Could you briefly introduce yourself? Tell us about your school, coaching institute, and academic performance in Classes 10 and 12.

Geetansh: My name is Geetansh Sarin. I studied at Aakash Institute for two years while preparing for NEET. I completed my schooling at MGN Public School. Academically, I scored around 95% in Class 10 and 96% in Class 12.

Careers360: When did you start taking your NEET preparation seriously?

Geetansh: I was serious about NEET preparation from the very first day of Class 11. I believe starting early and staying consistent played a major role in my preparation.

Careers360: What inspired you to pursue medicine as a career?

Geetansh: I have always believed that medicine is a noble profession, and doctors are highly respected in society. Since there isn't a doctor in my family, I wanted to become the first one and contribute to society through this profession.

Careers360: Which subject did you enjoy the most during your NEET preparation?

Geetansh: Physics was my favourite subject.

Careers360: Physics is considered one of the toughest subjects in NEET. What advice would you give to aspirants?

Geetansh: There is no shortcut to mastering Physics. The only way to improve is through consistent practice. Unlike Biology, where reading and memorising concepts can help, Physics requires regular problem-solving. The more questions you practise, the better you understand different concepts and approaches. Physics is time-consuming because every question teaches you something new. If you keep practising consistently, your speed, accuracy, and confidence will improve naturally.

Careers360: What are your preparation tips for Chemistry?

Geetansh: My biggest advice is to develop a strong command over NCERT. Unlike Physics, Chemistry in NEET is heavily based on NCERT. Read the textbook repeatedly, revise it regularly, and make sure every concept is clear. Consistent revision of NCERT gives you a significant advantage in the examination.

Careers360: Do you have any additional preparation tips for Biology that you would like to share?

Geetansh: My biggest advice is to keep reading NCERT again and again. Even if it starts feeling repetitive or boring, don't stop revising it. Biology may not be as interesting as Physics, where solving questions can be enjoyable, but it is one of the highest-scoring subjects in NEET.

Since most students score well in Biology, losing marks here can significantly affect your overall rank. That's why consistent revision of NCERT is extremely important. No matter how monotonous it feels, stick to NCERT and revise it multiple times.

Careers360: How did the difficulty level of Re NEET 2026 compare with NEET 2025?

Geetansh: I found both exams to be of a similar overall difficulty level. However, NEET 2026 had mostly moderate questions that tested conceptual understanding. In contrast, NEET 2025 had a mix of very easy and extremely difficult questions. Some questions in NEET 2025 were exceptionally challenging, while in Re NEET 2026, students with clear concepts could solve most questions.

Careers360: What factors should students consider while choosing a coaching institute for NEET preparation?

Geetansh: The quality of faculty and the test series should be the top priorities. Regular All India tests help students understand their actual competition and track their progress. Detailed study modules with sufficient practice questions also play a very important role in preparation.

Careers360: Apart from NCERT and coaching modules, which books did you use for preparation?

Geetansh: For Biology, I mainly followed NCERT and practised questions from MTG NCERT at Your Fingertips. For Chemistry, I focused on NCERT, coaching modules, and question practice books. For Physics, I solved Aakash's Momentum Booster, Errorless Physics, and MTG's NCERT at Your Fingertips. Momentum Booster was particularly helpful after strengthening the basics.

Careers360: Which medical college are you targeting with an expected score of 705?

Geetansh: My dream college is AIIMS Delhi.

Careers360: Apart from AIIMS Delhi, which other colleges are on your preference list?

Geetansh: VMMC Delhi, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Delhi, and AIIMS Bhopal.

Careers360: How supportive was your family during your NEET preparation?

Geetansh: My family supported me throughout the journey. They never pressured me to study or secure admission to a particular college. Instead, they always encouraged me to take care of my health, play sports, and maintain a balanced lifestyle. They simply wanted me to give my best, irrespective of the college I joined.

Careers360: Whenever you felt stressed or demotivated, how did you refresh yourself?

Geetansh: I usually listened to music. Whenever I felt mentally exhausted, I would put on my earphones and listen to songs. It helped me relax and regain focus.

Careers360: What advice would you give to students who have just entered Class 11 and are preparing for NEET 2028?

Geetansh: Stay serious from the very first day. Many students think they can enjoy Class 11 and start studying seriously in Class 12, but that approach rarely works. Consistency from Day 1 is the key to cracking NEET.

Careers360: What was your strategy for managing time during the three-hour examination?

Geetansh: My strategy was slightly different from many students. I attempted Biology first because it is more scoring, followed by Chemistry and then Physics. This approach helped me maintain confidence and manage my time effectively.

Careers360: What advice would you give to a student scoring around 400 marks after already taking one drop year?

Geetansh: If the student genuinely believes they have not given their 100% effort and can improve significantly, they can consider taking another drop. However, if they have already given their best and are still scoring around 400 marks, they should also explore other career options in the medical and allied healthcare fields.

Careers360: Apart from MBBS, which other careers in the medical field can students consider?

Geetansh: There are many good career options such as Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Research, and several other healthcare-related fields.

Careers360: What factors should students consider while selecting a medical college during counselling?

Geetansh: The reputation and history of the college are very important. Students should also consider patient inflow because higher patient exposure provides better clinical learning. Overall, government medical colleges generally offer good opportunities.

Careers360: If NEET is conducted in CBT mode from 2027, do you think it will be beneficial?

Geetansh: Yes. Computer-Based Tests significantly reduce the chances of paper leaks. Since exams like JEE have been conducted in CBT mode for years, adopting the same format for NEET would make the examination process more secure and fair.
