    Scholarships for Medical Students 2026

    In India, MBBS is the most preferred course for students pursuing medicine. To get admission in MBBS, candidates must qualify NEET UG. To assist students from poor families, medical scholarships are available at both the national and state levels. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the respective authorities are awarded scholarships.     AIPMST Secondary is a national-level scholarship for medical students in India. The scholarship is designed for medical aspirants who wish to pursue courses such as MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and BUMS. The authority conducts the merit based exam every year for all the eligible candidates.

    AIPMST eligibility criteria:

    Qualification:

    • All those students who aspire to get scholarships for studying MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and BUMS are eligible. Candidates should have qualified for the 10+2 examination with the subject group Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB).

    • Students who are appearing for or have qualified for their Senior Secondary Board or 12th standard board examinations from a government-recognised board, such as CBSE, ICSE and others, are eligible to apply for this scholarship examination.

    • All those students who have already registered or will apply to the NEET for admission in MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and BUMS can apply for the AIPMST (Secondary).

    Age limit:

    • Candidates born on or after October 1, 1997, are eligible to apply for the AIPMST (Secondary) examination.

    • Candidates from SC, ST and PH categories are eligible if born on or after October 1, 1992, with an extended upper age limit of 5 years.

    AIPMST Secondary exam pattern:

    • A total of 200 multiple choice questions (MCQs) are asked with 50 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English & Logical reasoning.

    • 4 marks are given to each correct response

    • 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong response.

    2. All India Youth Scholarship Entrance Examination (AIYSEE)

    AIYSEE 2026 is a scholarship test for candidates who require financial support to continue their education. The exam is conducted online for students who have passed 12th or appearing in the current academic year.

    AIYSEE eligibility criteria:

    • Candidates appearing or have passed 10+2 from a recognised board are eligible

    • Aspirants appearing for NEET UG exam are also eligible for the scholarship.

    AIYSEE exam pattern

    • A total of 90 MCQs are asked with 30 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

    • The exam duration is 90 minutes.

    • 1 mark for correct response

    • One-fourth deducted for incorrect response.

    3. All India Scholarship Entrance Examination (AISEE)

    AISEE is a national-level merit-based scholarship exam for medical students. The scholarship is awarded to students who wish to pursue MBBS and BDS courses. The application fee for the AISEE scholarship exam is Rs 1200.

    AISEE eligibility criteria:

    • Candidates appearing or have passed 10+2 from a recognised board

    • Aspirants appearing for NEET UG exam can also apply for the scholarship.


    AISEE exam pattern

    • A total of 90 MCQs are asked from Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Maths and General Science & Logical Thinking.

    • The exam timing is 90 minutes

    • :4 marks will be awarded for every correct response.

    • For every incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted.

    4. All India Medical Scholarship Entrance Test (AIMSET)

    AIMSET is a national level scholarship test for students aspiring to study courses such as MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS and other medical courses. The scholarship is awarded to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker backgrounds.

    AIMSET eligibility criteria

    • Students should have passed 10+2 with 50% marks in all subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

    • Class 12th appearing students are also eligible

    • Candidates appearing for NEET UG exam can also apply.

    AIMSET exam pattern:

    • A total of 180 multiple choice questions are asked with 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

    • Each correct answer carry four marks

    • 1 mark is deducted for incorrect answer

    5. Nationwide Education And Scholarship Test (NEST)

    NEST is a national level entrance test conducted for medical students. The scholarship is awarded to students who have excellent academic backgrounds. The exam is held for both UG and PG students.

    NEST eligibility criteria:

    • 1st and 2nd-year students of MBB/BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BDS and class 12 science can apply for 'NEST Senior I' exam.

    • For the NEST Senior 2’ exam, 3rd and 4th-year students of MBB/BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BDS are eligible .

    • 1st year & final year students of MD/MS can apply for the NEST Master exam.

    NEST exam pattern:

    • A total of 200 multiple-choice questions are asked for a time duration of 2 hours.

    • Each correct answer carries 1 mark

    NEST scholarship amount:

    The meritorious candidates will get Rs 35,000 to Rs 1 lakh depending on the rank in the entrance exam.

    6. Bharati Scheme for Education

    This scholarship is awarded to postgraduate medical students belonging to the Brahmin community of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria as specified by the Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation are eligible for the scholarship.

    Eligibility criteria of Bharati Scheme for Education:

    • Candidates must be the students of MD/MS

    • Candidates must belong to the Brahmin community.

    • The annual family income should not exceed Rs 3 Lakhs.

    Bharati Scheme for Education scholarship amount:

    Candidates are given a scholarship amount of Rs 10,000 through this scheme.

    7. Nirankari Rajmata Scholarship Scheme

    This scholarship is awarded to meritorious students at graduation and post graduation levels. The scholarship is given to eligible and needy students on the basis of merit-cum-means. Meanwhile , 50% of scholarship amount is reserved for girl students.

    Eligibility criteria of Nirankari Rajmata Scholarship Scheme

    • A candidate should be a regular student of any Institute and must be admitted through a competitive written test.

    • The income of the family should not be more than Rs. 3.50 lakhs.

    Nirankari Rajmata Scholarship Scheme amount

    Under this scheme, candidates are given a scholarship amount of Rs 75,000 per year as the tuition fee.

    8. SNAI Scholarship

    Student Nurses’ Association of India scholarship is given to students of BSc Nursing, ANM and GNM courses. As per the scheme, meritorious students from economically weaker sections will receive a grant of Rs 24,000. The scholarship is granted to students who fulfil the eligibility criteria.

    Eligibility criteria of SNAI scholarship:

    • A candidate should be a bona fide student of nursing college.

    • Aspirants should be active members of the unit for at least the last 3 years.

    SNAI Scholarship amount:

    The selected candidates will be given a scholarship amount of Rs. 24000 under the scheme.
