The course also includes study of modern medicine. The curriculum is divided into three parts along with a one-year compulsory internship. Each part has a different syllabus and is of 18 months. In the first part, History of the Ayurvedic system, Basic principles of Ayurveda, Anatomy and Physiology is covered. The course duration is 5 years out of which 1 year is for internship. Candidates who complete this course are also awarded the “Dr” title and can practice dentistry after acquiring the license. BUMS:

B.U.M.S. is an acronym for Bachelor of Unani Medicine and surgery. This undergraduate degree program is of 5 years and 5 months duration. 1 year is allotted to internship. The course includes study of application methods of unani system and surgery. The aim is self-healing by detoxification of the body and increasing immunity. BYNS professionals watch symptoms and reactions of their patients closely and provide a treatment which is highly personalized. Emotional predispositions, biomechanics and biochemistry aspects of the patient are involved in the treatment. BYNS is a 4.5-year academic course along with a compulsory 1-year internship. BHMS:

MD:
