A percentile is a relative measure that shows how a student performed in comparison to other students appeared in NEET exam. The percentile reflects the percentage of students who scored lower than the given score. For example, the 99 percentile in NEET means that the candidate has scored higher than 99% of all the candidates who appeared for the exam.
NEET UG consists of 180 questions, out of which 45 questions are asked from Physics, 45 from Chemistry, and 90 from Biology (with 45 questions each from Botany and Zoology). For each correct answer, 4 marks are given, while there is a 1 mark negative marking in NEET. This makes the total marks in NEET UG as 720 marks and the total score in NEET ranges from 0 to 720 marks.
NTA conducted the NEET 2025 exam on May 4, 2025 and will release the result by June 14. The 99 percentile in NEET 2025 marks will be available once the NEET result is out. However, using the historical NEET marks vs percentile data, the expected marks with 99 percentile in NEET 2025 are provided below.

The NEET percentile vs marks data can vary due to various factors. Some of the major factors affecting 99 percentile vs marks in NEET.
Difficulty level of the exam - If the NEET exam is relatively easy, more candidates may score high, so the chances of more students scoring the 99 percentile might be higher. Similarly, in a tougher exam, fewer candidates may score well, reducing the number of students scoring 99 percentile in NEET.
Number of appearing candidates - The NEET exam sees a large number of candidates each year, which impacts the percentile calculation. With more students taking the exam, the number of students scoring 99 percentile might increase.
The NEET percentile can be calculated in two ways - using marks and All India Rank. A brief overview of both methods is provided below.
The calculation of the percentile is based on the following formula -

Percentile = [(Total Number of Candidates - Your Rank) / Total Number of Candidates] * 100
