Questions related to NEET

Have a question related to NEET ?

Hello there,

With a NEET score of 420 and belonging to the SC category in Maharashtra, getting admission to a semi-government medical college is possible but may be challenging.

Here’s why:

  1. The cutoff scores for government medical colleges are usually higher than 420, especially for popular seats.

  2. Semi-government colleges often have lower cutoffs compared to fully government colleges, so your score may fit their range.

  3. Your SC reservation helps improve chances, but competition is still tough.

  4. Admission depends on seat availability, counseling rounds, and category-wise cutoff for the year 2025.

In short: With 420 marks and SC quota, you stand a fair chance in semi-government medical colleges in Maharashtra, but it’s best to participate in counseling and apply to multiple colleges to increase your chances.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

HEY THERE!!

With a NEET MDS AIR of 2238, score of 540, and EWS category, the possibility of securing a government dental college in AIQ is extremely remote.

Reason:

  • Last year as well as the year before that, government MDS seats in good colleges ended at much lower ranks (for instance, below AIR 200 for the majority of government colleges).
  • Even for EWS, cutoff ranks for govt colleges have remained much lower than 2238.
  • Government dental colleges take seats from the first few hundred ranks, particularly for sought-after branches and AIQ.

What you can do:

  1. You can use NEET MDS College Predictor tools to see which colleges you can possibly get with your rank and category.
  2. You have a higher chance in state quota counselling or in private/deemed colleges.

With AIR 2238 (EWS), you will not get a government MDS seat under All India Quota. Go for state quota or private colleges, as there are better chances there. Make use of college predictor tools for better, personalized estimates.

HEY THERE!!

With 440 marks in NEET 2025 and being from the BC-A category, you stand a fair chance of getting admission in government medical or dental colleges under reservation, particularly for BDS courses.

  1. The anticipated NEET cutoff marks for OBC/BC categories for MBBS seats in government colleges is about 530–560 marks, so 440 marks can be below the normal MBBS cutoff for government seats.
  2. But for BDS colleges, the cutoff is lower, and 440 marks should be enough to secure a BDS seat in government colleges under BC-A reservation.
  3. You can also consider private medical and dental colleges, where admission is less difficult with your score.

Summary:

  • MBBS government seat: Not very likely with 440 marks in BC-A category.
  • BDS government seat: Yes, possible and probable with 440 marks.
  • Private colleges: Good possibilities for MBBS/BDS.
  • Verify your state's particular counselling and cutoff trends for closer estimates.
