Candidates who are seeking admission to B.Sc nursing courses without NEET need to qualify for certain eligibility criteria. These eligibility criteria are as follows -
Aspirant should have passed the 10 + 2 standard or its equivalent from a recognised board
The candidate should have attained a minimum age of 17 years as of December 31 of the year he/she is seeking admission
The student should have obtained an aggregate mark of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together with English as a core subject. The aggregate marks percentage may vary.
Apart from the NEET exam, several other entrance examinations offer admission to B.Sc nursing courses in several reputed colleges of India. These entrance examinations can be categorised as follows -
AIIMS B.Sc Nursing - The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi conducts the AIIMS BSc Nursing entrance exam for admission to B.Sc nursing programmes in AIIMS institutes of India. This exam is held for only female candidates. A total of 100 multiple choice questions are asked for a duration of 2 hours.
PGIMER B.Sc Nursing - The PGIMER Chandigarh conducts the PGIMER B.Sc Nursing entrance exam annually in online mode. Over 90 seats are granted for admission in the B.Sc Nursing programme at PGIMER Chandigarh through this entrance test. Only female candidates in the age group of 17 to 25 years can apply for this exam.
CMC Ludhiana B.Sc Nursing - The CMC Ludhiana conducts the CMC Ludhiana B.Sc Nursing entrance exam annually in online mode. The admissions to the B.Sc Nursing programme are made on behalf of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. A total of 100 MCQ’s are asked along with 50 MCQ’s of the Bible. However, marks obtained in core subjects are considered for preparing the merit list of CMC Ludhiana B.Sc Nursing. Both male and female candidates can apply for CMC Ludhiana B.Sc Nursing.
KGMU B.Sc Nursing - The King George’s Medical University, Lucknow conducts this state-level entrance exam. KGMU B.Sc Nursing entrance exam is conducted in offline mode and is only available for the domicile of Uttar Pradesh.
RUHS B.Sc nursing - The Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur conducts the RUHS B.Sc Nursing examination annually in offline mode. The entrance exam is conducted in both English and Hindi language. The duration of the RUHS B.Sc nursing exam is 2 hours and there is no negative marking.
JENPAS UG - The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEE) conducts the JENPAS UG entrance examination for admission to B.Sc Nursing programmes in the government and private nursing colleges of West Bengal. The applicant should be a domicile of West Bengal and must be in the age group of 17 to 35 years. The JENPAS UG entrance examination is conducted in offline mode.
MH Nursing CET - The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra conducts the state-level MH Nursing CET for admission to B.Sc nursing programme. The MH Nursing CET is conducted in online mode. Around 30% of the seats are reserved for female candidates in all nursing colleges of Maharashtra.
Various nursing colleges in India offer B.Sc Nursing programmes without NEET. Admission to these colleges is given through either state level entrance exams or particular entrance exams of the institute.
