DME Tripura - Under the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, the Directorate of Medical Education has been established and started its functioning from October 15, 2011. Matters relating to Medical Education, like Medical Colleges, Regional Pharmacy Colleges, Paramedical Education, Nursing Institutes under Government and Private sector (PPP Models), Nursing Education, etc. are dealt with by DME Tripura. The medical admission in the state is granted by DME Tripura only on the basis of scores obtained in the national medical entrance test conducted by the competent authorities. Aspirants are advised to fill the application form in online mode by fulfilling the eligibility criteria and paying the requisite application fee within the due dates. The authorities releases the merit list for admissions to the medical and dental colleges of the state. DME Tripura releases the merit list in online mode and PDF format. Authorities releases the final merit list after the verification of the document, on the basis of which admission is granted.
For undergraduate, the final merit list contains names of candidates, NEET roll number, marks secured, domicile details, category, qualifying status. On the basis of scores obtained in the medical entrance test. However, the merit list for medical PG admission mentions the registered candidates rank, roll number, category, NEET PG score, incentive marks, total marks. Aspirants whose names are included in the state merit list will be called for participation in the counselling process.
For both UG and PG medical admission in the state, DME Tripura is the competent authority to release the cutoff. DME will release the NEET cutoff Tripura for only qualified aspirants. In order to take admission, the cutoff is the rank and its corresponding score at which the last aspirants will be granted admission in the medical and dental colleges of the state in a particular academic session.

DME Tripura conducts MBBS/BDS counselling for granting medical and dental admission or both UG and PG degrees in the affiliated institutes of the state. The authorities conduct NEET counselling for admission in online mode. There are two rounds of counselling for Tripura medical admission followed by a mop-up round if seats remain vacant. Aspirants whose names will be included in the merit list can participate in the counselling process.
In order to participate in the counselling process, aspirants are required to register them by login to their applicant portal. After login, students are required to make their choices of courses and colleges according to their preferences and as per their category and ranks.
