Top Colleges: Prestigious institutes like AIIMS Delhi and Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Delhi, under the AIQ, often require scores above 680 for General category candidates.
State Quota Variations: States with higher seat availability, such as Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, may have relatively lower cutoffs (e.g., 570–620 for General), while competitive states like Delhi and Maharashtra see higher thresholds.
Reserved Categories: SC and ST candidates benefit from lower cutoffs due to reservation policies, with scores of 420–490 often sufficient for state quota seats in less competitive regions.
Category | 2024 | 2023 | 2022 |
General | 720–162 | 720–137 | 715–117 |
OBC | 161–127 | 136–107 | 116–93 |
SC | 161–127 | 136–107 | 116–93 |

General-PwD | 161–144 | 136–121 | 116–105 |
The NEET 2025 cutoff marks are affected by several key factors:
Exam Difficulty: The NEET 2025 exam was reported to be tougher than previous years, with a challenging Physics section and a moderately difficult Biology and Chemistry section, potentially lowering the cutoff scores.
Number of Candidates: A total of 20.8 lakh candidates appeared in NEET 2025, a drop of 1.9 lakh from the 22.7 lakh registered. This lower participation of students has also resulted in a lower cutoff this year.
Seat Availability: The total seats under the NEET exam has been increased compared to the previous year. This has also resulted in a lower cutoff for NEET 2025.
Candidate Performance: Fewer candidates are expected to score 720 due to the increased difficulty, impacting the percentile-to-score conversion and hence lowering the NEET cutoff 2025
