    NEET UG is the single largest undergraduate medical entrance exam conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and BSc Nursing programs. Over the years, there has been discussion whether NEET scores will also be used for AIIMS BSc Nursing admission 2026. As of now, there is no official announcement that NEET will replace AIIMS BSc Nursing exam.

    AIIMS, being one of the reputed colleges in India, conducts its own entrance exam for admission to BSc Nursing and Paramedical courses unlike central universities and colleges which offer BSc Nursing admissions on NEET results. However, there is a possibility that NEET might replace AIIMS BSc Nursing exam for granting Nursing seats in AIIMS institutes in India. In this article, we have discussed the possibility of NEET replacing the AIIMS BSc Nursing entrance exam and other details.

    Is NEET required for BSc Nursing in AIIMS?

    No, NEET is not compulsory for the BSc Nursing program at AIIMS. For BSc Nursing admission, AIIMS New Delhi enrol students based on their performance in the entrance examination, conducted in online mode for a time duration of 2 hours. A total of 100 multiple-choice questions are asked from the Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge subjects. Unlike NEET, which primarily focuses on core Science subjects only. However, bringing BSc Nursing admissions under NEET aims to streamline merit-based admissions in central and state medical colleges in India.

    BSc Nursing admission through NEET 2026

    Most of the institutes require NEET UG scores for admission to undergraduate nursing programs. The admission to BSc Nursing courses commences after the NEET results are out.
