    • This covalent bond between two amino acid is called a peptide bond.
    • A peptide bond is formed when the carboxyl group of one amino acid and the amino group of the other amino acid combine, releasing a molecule of water.
    • The two amino acids connected via a peptide bond are called dipeptide.
    • When 12-20 amino acids are joined, an oligopeptide is formed.
    • When more than twenty amino acids are linked, a polypeptide is formed.
