The reduction in NEET PG 2025 cutoff has been implemented because of the following reasons:
Large number of vacant PG medical seats: Several states reported vacant MD/MS and diploma seats after earlier NEET PG 2025 counselling rounds. The PG seats of top specializations were filled. It is possible that those who were not able to secure seats in round 2 will now appear for the NEET PG exam next year to claim the seat of their choice. To fill the vacant seats, the authority released NEET PG revised cutoff 2025.
Admission to PG Diploma courses: The admission to PG medical Diploma courses is also done on the basis of NEET PG cutoff. To make candidates eligible for the PG Diploma seats, the NEET PG 2025 cutoff has been revised.
The reduced NEET PG 2025 cutoff will be beneficial for:
Candidates who missed the earlier cutoff by a few marks.
Candidates seeking admission to state quota seats.
Candidates aiming for non-clinical and diploma courses.
As the revised NEET PG 2025 cutoff is out, the authority will now commence the round 3 counselling process. The MCC will soon release the NEET PG 2025 round 3 counselling schedule. Candidates who are eligible after the reduction of NEET PG 2025 cutoff, will have to register and fill their preferences within the specified time period. Candidates who will be granted seats in round 3 NEET PG counselling 2025 will have to report at the colleges to complete the admission process.
