Historically, NEET UG has been postponed only in exceptional circumstances. The most notable instance was in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic led to nationwide lockdowns and disruptions to education systems. As a result, NEET UG 2020 was initially scheduled for May but was later postponed until September 2020. Moreover, NTA conducted the NEET 2020 phase 2 special exam for the candidates who could not appear in the exam in September due to the pandemic.
Again in 2021, the NEET UG exam was postponed to September from the previous schedule of August. However, aside from this unprecedented situation, there have been no major instances of NTA NEET postponed due to other reasons. The exam is generally held on a fixed date once it has been announced, and students are expected to prepare accordingly.
