Qualifying Safe score

Around 6 lakh candidates from the General category appeared for NEET 2025 exam. Considering the number of general category candidates appearing in NEET 2025 and previous year trends, marks in the range of 720 - 160 can be considered as a safe score for NEET 2025 general category.

Safe score for Admission

  • To gain admission into top government medical colleges such as AIIMS, JIPMER, and King George's Medical University, general category students should aim for a score between 650 and 700 or higher.
  • For other government medical colleges outside of AIIMS, JIPMER, and KGMU, a score ranging from 600 to 650 can be considered a safe score for NEET 2025 for general category applicants.
  • When it comes to private medical institutions, general category candidates can consider a score of 600 to 650 as a safe score.

2. Safe score for NEET 2025 SC category

Qualifying safe score

Around 3.5 lakh candidates from the SC category are expected to appear for NEET 2025 exam. Considering the number of SC category candidates appearing in NEET 2025 and previous year trends, the safe score for the NEET 2025 SC category can be 160 - 125.

Safe score for admission

  • A score between 500 and 600 is a safe score for SC candidates in NEET 2025 who wish to gain admission to government colleges.
  • For other government medical institutions, a score of 450 to 500 can be a safe NEET 2025 score for candidates in the SC category.
  • When it comes to private medical colleges, achieving a NEET 2025 score of 400 to 450 is typically sufficient to secure a seat.

3. Safe score in NEET 2025 for ST category

Qualifying safe score

Around 1.5 lakh candidates from the ST category are expected to appear for NEET 2025 exam. Considering the number of ST category candidates appearing in NEET 2025 and previous year trends, the safe score for the NEET 2025 SC category can be considered as 160 - 125.

Admission safe score

  • A score ranging from 500 to 600 is a safe score for NEET 2025 for SC/ST candidates aiming for admission to government colleges.
  • For other government medical institutions, candidates in the SC category should aim for a score between 450 and 500 to feel secure about their chances.
  • In the case of private medical colleges, a NEET 2025 score of 400 to 450 is usually adequate to secure a spot.

4. Safe score for NEET 2025 OBC category

Qualifying safe score

It is expected that over 10 lakh candidates belonging to OBC category will appear for NEET 2025 exam. Considering this vast amount of candidates and the competition level, the NEET 2025 safe score for OBC category can be around 160 - 125.

Admission safe score

  • For top government medical colleges, a safe score in NEET 2025 could range between 600 to 650 marks

  • For other government medical colleges, a score of 550 - 600 can be considered a safe NEET 2025 score

Several factors play a role in determining the NEET exam safe scores each year. Some of these factors are as follows -

  • Number of candidates appearing for NEET 2025: For NEET 2025, around 23 lakh candidates have applied. This number is 1 year less than last year’s number of total candidates appeared.
