National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET UG) serves as a gateway for medical aspirants seeking admission to MBBS, BDS and AYUSH courses in various medical colleges across the country. The NTA will soon announce the NEET 2026 exam date at neet.nta.nic.in. As per the previous years’ trends, the NEET UG 2026 is expected to be held on May 3, 2026.

NEET exam is conducted in pen and paper format (OMR-based) across India and abroad. A total of 180 multiple-choice questions are asked in the entrance examination and students have to answer the questions in the OMR sheet by using a ball point pen. January 8, 2026: NTA has released the NEET UG syllabus 2026 at neet.nta.nic.inc.
January 5, 2026: NTA has released the advisory to update the Aadhar card, UDID card, and Category certificate.
December 23, 2025: The NMC released NEET 2026 syllabus for aspirants. There are no changes in the NEET 2026 syllabus.
December 20, 2025: The NTA will release the official NEET exam date 2026 soon. The NEET exam is expected to be held on May 3, 2026.
The NTA will release the latest NEET 2026 exam pattern along with the information brochure. It is expected that the NEET exam pattern 2026 will remain mostly unchanged. Last year, the NEET UG exam pattern underwent several changes. The additional questions in the NEET exam paper were removed. Yes , the NEST exam is generally considered tougher than NEET as it requires more focus towards conceptual understanding and thinking , while NEET generally tests NCERT based knowledge where as in NEST it requires you to have deeper clarity in Physics , Chemistry , Biology and Mathematics.
