Karnataka MBBS Merit List 2018 – Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) will tentatively publish Karnataka MBBS 2018 merit list in the first week of June 2018. This merit list of Karnataka MBBS 2018 will be provisional and will be published before the registration process starts. Karnataka MBBS merit list 2018 will include candidates who have qualified NEET with minimum required percentile and studied Class 12 from Karnataka. The inclusion in the merit list only means that the candidate is eligible to fill the application form and attend the document verification session. Highlights of Karnataka MBBS BDS Merit List 2018
Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) is responsible for Karnataka MBBS 2018 admission process.
There will be two Karnataka MBBS 2018 merit lists-
Provisional Merit List- This list will be published tentatively in the first week of July 2018. The list will be prepared before the registration process of Karnataka MBBS admission 2018 starts. The merit list will include all the candidates who applied in NEET 2018, scored minimum required percentile in the exam and completed Class XII from Karnataka.
Verified Merit List- This list will be published tentatively in the second week of July 2018. The list will be prepared after the document session is completed. The merit list will include candidates whose documents are successfully verified. These candidates will be eligible for option entry (counselling) session.
The candidates are advised to take a print out of both the merit lists for further reference.
Tie-breaker of Karnataka MBBS BDS 2018 Merit List
The tie-breaker is used when two or more candidates score same marks in NEET 2018. Thus, to pick the best of the best candidate, these criteria will be used to break the tie -
In the first place, the candidate with higher marks in Biology will be preferred over the one with lesser marks.
If the tie-breaker situation still persists, then the candidate with higher marks in Chemistry will be given preference.
If the above two tie-breakers fail to pick the final candidate, then the candidate who is older in age will be given a better rank.
What after Karnataka MBBS BDS Merit List 2018?
The candidates will be eligible to attend the counselling session after the release of verified merit list of Karnataka MBBS 2018. The session will tentatively start on June 25, 2018. The eligible candidates will be provided with a secret key which they will use at the time of option entry. The candidates are advised to attend the mock counselling sessions before actually locking the options. The first list of seat allotment will be tentatively published in the last week of June 2018.
