Aiims and jipmer has cancelled then the cutt off of neet would be low or high

Apoorva Student Expert 30th Mar, 2020

Hello dear student,

Yes dear student AIIMS and JIPMER have been called off the shelves and like a these two bodies used to conduct their own entrance test for the students who wanted to get admission in Medical in MBBS or BDS. But they have combined in NEET only which will be conducted by NTA . This is the first time exam is going to be conducted like this but probably the possibility is that the cutoff will be higher in comparison to the past cutoffs of Neet. I hope this information is helpful to you

Thank you

i have physics, chemistry maths with computer science and English. is there any way i can be eligible for NEET like doing bio from open school or appearing as private candidate if Im willing to take a drop year?

Shruti Jha Student Expert 29th Mar, 2020

Hi,

Its a difficult yet not impossible task.

Being a pcm branch student till 12th standard doesn't allow you to sit in the neet examination.

But yes, if you really wants to go for mbbs/bds/any medical field for your higher studies then you can opt biology as a course through private or nios boards.

According to different eligibility criterias of neet, nios or private board students are also eligible for neet exams.

The details of this are as-

NEET examination code 2:

Candidates who have completed a period of 12 years under Higher/Secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), which is equivalent to Class 10+2 can opt code 2. However, the last two years of study must include English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology or Mathematics or any other elective as a major subject as prescribed by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT).

Aspirants who have passed 10+2 from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) or state open school, as a private candidate from state boards; with Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject can apply under NEET qualification code 2.

Who can also apply code 2: It should also be noted that the qualifying examination code for NEET 2020 for droppers will also be the same. For instance, a candidate has passed qualifying examination from CBSE/ISCE or any state board in the year 2018, but wish to appear for NEET 2020, he/she can apply for the exam with Code 2.

For more details and informations you can check out the official sites too .

Hope this will help you out.

Good luck.

In Neet marks which sub mark plays an important role in deciding the seat whether physics or bio?? . If suppose 2 students got the same marks how will be the ranking in AIR whether it depends on physics percentile or bio percentile???.

Saisrinandan Ch 29th Mar, 2020

Hello,

When two candidates get the same marks, then the issue is resolved using the tie breaker policy.

In case of NEET UG, the tie breaker policy gives more importance to Biology.

So, if A scores 300 in Bio and B scores 265 but their total score is same, then A is preferred.

Tie breaker policy doesn't include marks of Physics to resolve such issues.

Only Marks of Bio,Chem and then less number of incorrect answers and finally DOB are considered. (in the same order)

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

If i get 320 marks in neet will i get mbbs seat in govt College in India. since i belongs to OBC category. I am from state Kerala, District Palakkad

Sourandhi Saha Student Expert 30th Mar, 2020

320 marks in NEET won't help you to get a seat in any government colleges of Kerala even if you are from OBC Category. Going by previous year home state quota cutoff, you should score at least 500+ marks in NEET to get a seat in government medical colleges in Kerala.

All the best!
