The National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the syllabus of NEET 2026 on December 23, 2025. The NMC’s syllabus PDF mentions the subject as “Updated Syllabus for NEET UG 2026”, causing confusion among medical aspirants if the syllabus has been changed from last year. However, upon comparison of the NMC NEET syllabus 2026 PDF with the NEET 2025 syllabus PDF, it is now confirmed that there are no changes in the syllabus. There has been no addition or reduction in the NEET UG 2026 syllabus compared to NEET UG 2025. With the confirmation of NEET UG syllabus 2026 remaining unchanged, medical aspirants can continue with their preparation.

The Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) under NMC released the syllabus notification for NEET UG 2026 on December 23, 2025. Although the notice refers to an “updated syllabus,” the attached NEET 2026 syllabus PDF clearly shows that the syllabus has been re-issued without any changes.
Also, a direct comparison of the NEET UG 2025 syllabus PDF and the NEET UG 2026 syllabus PDF confirms that both documents are identical in structure, content, and topic distribution, confirming that there are “Zero” changes in syllabus.
The subject-wise syllabus of NEET UG is provided below.
The Physics syllabus for NEET UG continues to include all 20 units, covering units like:
Mechanics
Properties of Matter
Thermodynamics
Oscillations and Waves
Electrostatics and Current Electricity
Magnetism and Electromagnetic Induction
Optics
Modern Physics
Experimental Skills
There are no changes in unit names, sub-topics, or practical components.
The Chemistry syllabus of NEET also remains unchanged across Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. Key chapters such as Atomic Structure, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Coordination Compounds, Hydrocarbons, Biomolecules, and Practical Chemistry are exactly the same as NEET UG 2025.
Both Botany and Zoology sections in NEET Biology syllabus remain unchanged. Some of the Important units includes:
Diversity in Living World
Cell Structure and Function
Plant Physiology
Human Physiology
Genetics and Evolution
Biotechnology
Ecology and Environment
The confusion mainly arose due to the phrase “updated syllabus” used in the NMC notice. In previous years, whenever syllabus reduction or revision was implemented, NMC has clearly issued a separate revised or reduced syllabus notification, along with a list of removed chapters.
However, no such notification has been issued for NEET UG 2026, which confirms that the syllabus remains unchanged. Also, upon comparing both the syllabus PDF of NEET 2026 and 2025, it is confirmed that there are zero changes in syllabus.
Yes! “cockroach” is included in the NEET UG Biology syllabus for 2026 as part of Class 11 Zoology. Specifically, the topic appears under Structural Organisation in Animals where students learn about the morphology and anatomy of a cockroach
The study material used for NEET UG 2025 is still valid for NEET UG 2026 because there has been no change in the syllabus. NCERT books remain the most important source for preparing Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Students do not need to change their study plans or coaching notes, and previous years’ NEET questions are still useful for practice. With no syllabus changes, aspirants can continue their preparation with confidence and without any confusion.
