The Veterinary Council of India (VCI) releases the seat matrix for aspirants who wish to seek admission to the Veterinary courses at vciadmissions.nic.in. The list of total Veterinary seats in India 2024 can be checked here.

Admission to Veterinary courses in India is granted on the basis of scores obtained by the aspirants in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). The undergraduate medical exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree.

Candidates who wish to pursue a career in veterinary are allotted 15% of the seats in the Veterinary Colleges under the All India Quota. Is Vet Included in NEET?

Many students who wish to seek admission to the B.V.Sc & AH program have a common doubt in mind i.e. 'can we get a vet seat through NEET?' The answer this question is, yes. Aspirants who wish to take admission to the Veterinary courses will have to qualify for the NEET UG exam.

Total Number of Veterinary Seats in India 2024?

There are about 54 colleges from various states of India with a total of 744 vet seats under 15% All India Quota including the reservation seats which will be available for counselling/admission in a recognised veterinary college during the session 2024. Let us have a look at the classification of reserved seats under the 15% AIQ:

  • 15% reserved for SC Candidates

  • 7.5% seats are reserved for ST Candidates

  • 10% seats are reserved for EWS Candidates

  • 27% of seats reserved for OBC Candidates

  • 5% of seats reserved for physically disabled other than mentioned below:

  • Disability of total body including disability of chestor spine of more than 50%

  • Disability of lower limb of more than 50%

  • Disability of Upper limb

  • Visually handicapped and those with hearing disability

  • Progressive diseases like myopathies etc.

  • Disabilities which otherwise would interfere in the performance of the duties of a veterinarian.

As we have already mentioned above, this year VCI has allotted 744 Vet seats in NEET under the 15% All India Quota including seats for the reserved category. The Veterinary management seats in india and NRI sponsored quota seats in veterinary colleges of india will be released on the official website . These seats will be available for counselling/admission in the Veterinary Colleges during the year 2024. Candidates are required to check the detailed seat matrix mentioned below:

VCI Online Counselling 2024

Based on the ranks obtained in the NEET UG exam, candidates are invited to VCI counselling sessions during which they have the opportunity to select their preferred college. The counselling will take place in four rounds i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round and Stray Round. Seats are allotted based on merit and choices selected by candidates, and availability of the seats. Candidates must provide all the necessary documents, such as academic certificates, identity proof, and caste/category certificates (if applicable), for verification during the counselling process. Once a seat is allotted, candidates are required to pay the prescribed fees to confirm the seat.

The eligibility criteria for meet states that you need to have passed class 12th with physics chemistry biology and English with core subjects and you need to have a minimum aggregate percentage, which is required like for general category. It is 50% and for OBC SC it is 40%.  even if your Individual subject marks are low  but as long as your aggregate marks are  crossing the minimum percentage criteria you are eligible for NEET. You need to study hard for me. You want to score good marks.  it possible for you to work hard and percentage in your need to get a good Medical College NEET ELIGIBILTY
