Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) 2026 is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in online mode for Indian and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) to obtain the registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC). With exam held in two parts, candidates appearing for the screening test must follow the FMGE exam centre guidelines to avoid disruption and disqualification.

As per the FMGE 2026 exam centre guidelines, medical graduates have to carry the mandatory documents such as FMGE admit card, a valid ID proof, follow the dress code and avoid barred items. Candidates must be aware of the exact set of events taking place on the exam day well in advance to avoid hassle. Candidates must be well aware of the FMGE exam schedule as specified by the authority. They must reach the ‘Reporting Counter’ of the test avenue as per the time mentioned in the FMGE admit card. To avoid delay, candidates must reach in time and familiarise with the exact exam schedule.

As there is no particular dress code for FMGE aspirants. However, candidates must follow a simple dress code to facilitate quick frisking.
Try to wear light and comfortable clothes.
Wear simple footwear and avoid wearing shoes with thick soles or high heels.
Avoid jewellery or too much accessories
Candidates must be allowed to take the following documents to the FMGE 2026 exam centre.
A valid ID proof such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving Licence, Voter ID or Passport.
To avoid disqualification or delay, candidates must not bring the following items beyond the security check points.
Stationery items such as textual material, notes, plastic pouches, calculators, pens, writing pad and pen drives are not permitted inside the exam hall.
Any electronic devices like mobile phones, Bluetooth, earphones, microphones, pagers, wristwatch and scanner are not allowed.
Ornaments which include bracelets, rings, earrings, nose pins, chains/necklaces, pendants, badges, brooches among others will not be permitted.
Any eatable items opened or packed, soft drinks, water bottles are prohibited.

Candidates appearing for the entrance exam must be aware of the following instructions on the exam day. Every student must check the FMGE exam day guidelines to prevent disruption and cancellation.
The FMGE exam is held in two parts. The FMGE exam centre for Part A opens at 7 AM and Part B at 12 PM. candidates must reach the exam centre as per the reporting time. No student will be allowed to enter the exam centre before that.
The exam centre entry gate closes at 8:30 AM for Part A and 1:30 PM for Part B. Hence candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam hall past the scheduled time.
No arrangements are made at the exam centre for keeping any article belonging to candidates. In case, a student is found with any barred item inside the exam centre. It will be considered as unfair means and action will be taken against the candidate.
Candidates must carry their FMGE admit cards to the examination centre along with a valid ID proof.
Candidates must cooperate with the security personnel present at the exam centre.
Aspirants must listen to the instructions given by the invigilator at the beginning of the exam.
Any disruptive behaviour of the candidate may lead to disqualification. For any complaint, the candidate must notify the invigilator.
Candidates will not be allowed to leave the exam centre before the concluding time of the examination.

• The final and correct exam centre will be mentioned only on the FMGE Admit Card.
