GPAT Question Paper 2027: The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) is conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) for M.Pharm admission and the PCI scholarship. You can follow the latest status on the GPAT exam page. This article explains what the 2027 paper is likely to look like, who gets to see the real paper and when, what NBEMS says about sharing it, and which papers are actually worth solving right now.

GPAT 2026 was held on 7 March 2026 as a three-hour computer-based test with 125 multiple-choice questions and 500 marks. NBEMS showed candidates their recorded responses and the provisional answer key within about a week. The final answer key came with the result on 7 April 2026. So the real question paper reaches candidates in a fixed way and on a fixed schedule, and it is not freely posted online. Knowing this helps you avoid fake downloads, plan your practice around legitimate material, and know exactly what to collect after you sit the exam.
The exam month has moved before: GPAT 2025 was on 25 May 2025 and GPAT 2026 was on 7 March 2026. Until NBEMS publishes the 2027 bulletin, the 2026 bulletin is the best guide to how the paper will be built.
Feature | GPAT 2026 Official Bulletin |
Questions | 125 multiple-choice questions, four options each |
Language | English only |
Total marks | 500 |
Duration | 3 hours |
Marking | +4 correct, −1 wrong, 0 unattempted |
Sections | Time-bound. The bulletin's example is five sections of 25 questions, 36 minutes each |
Navigation | You can mark questions for review inside a section, but cannot return to a section once its time ends |
The paper is also split by subject, using an indicative blueprint:
Section | Questions | Marks |
Pharmaceutical Chemistry and allied subjects | 38 | 152 |
Pharmaceutics and allied subjects | 38 | 152 |
Pharmacology and allied subjects | 28 | 112 |
Pharmacognosy and allied subjects | 10 | 40 |
Other subjects of the B.Pharm course | 11 | 44 |
Total | 125 | 500 |
The syllabus was drawn from the B.Pharm Course Regulations, 2024. For topic lists, use the GPAT syllabus page. The paper will be divided into time-bound sections, so practise with sections.
The Split: The question paper is divided into 5 time-bound sections.
Time Allotment: Each section contains 25 questions and is strictly allotted 36 minutes.

NBEMS does not publish the paper on a public page. Based on the 2026 cycle and the bulletin, this is how it works:
Step | What happens | Who can access it |
Exam day | The paper is delivered on screen. No question paper is handed to you. | Candidates in the exam hall |
Response sheet and provisional key | In 2026, the response sheet was released on 13 March 2026, six days after the exam. It comes through the candidate login at natboard.edu.in. | Candidates who appeared |
Challenge window | You can object to a key. In 2024 and 2025 the fee was ₹200 per question, so check the 2027 notice for the current amount. | Candidates who appeared |
Final key and result | In 2026, the final key came with the result on 7 April 2026. Seven questions were dropped as technically incorrect and four answers were changed. | Public result; paper access below |
Post-challenge paper | The question paper and final key were accessible from 15 April 2026. | Candidates who appeared |
The bulletin is clear on this point. NBEMS says it will not entertain requests to share exam content, including answer keys, except in the challenge window, where the provisional key, the questions and the recorded responses are shared with candidates who appeared. So the most reliable GPAT 2027 paper you will ever see is the one you collect from your own login.
There is a direct penalty too. If there is evidence that a candidate enrolled in, took part in or used any preparation programme, service or online forum that distributes or uses actual GPAT questions or answers, or shared such content, NBEMS says the candidature can be cancelled, the result treated as invalid, and further academic or legal action taken.
You do not need the 2027 paper to prepare. You need questions that match the pattern. Here is how to rank your options:
Topic-wise MCQ books and test series from reputable providers. These are written for GPAT-style practice and carry no confidentiality risk.
Papers from the NTA years. NTA conducted GPAT from 2019 to 2023, as per the NBEMS bulletin, and released the 2022 question paper and provisional key on its GPAT site. Treat these as pattern practice, since the exam has since moved to NBEMS and the syllabus is now tied to the 2024 B.Pharm regulations.
Your own response sheet, if you have appeared before. If you sat GPAT 2026, your recorded responses and the final key show exactly where you lost marks.
Any other "previous year" paper. Use it only if you can see who produced it and how. If it is described as recalled from candidates, treat it as an unverified practice set, not as the real paper.
Whatever you pick, follow the exam format. Solve in the same time as the exam, in sections, and keep the negative marking in mind. A guess is worth making only when you can remove at least two options, because a wrong answer costs one mark and a correct one gives four.

A paper only helps if you review it. After each practice paper:
Mark every wrong answer as a concept gap, a careless error or an unfamiliar topic.
Calculate accuracy (correct divided by attempted), not just your score.
Write down the formulas and reactions you had to guess.
Re-attempt the same paper after a week, as the second attempt shows what you actually learned.
Doing this with ten papers is worth more than skimming thirty.
This page will be update it once the exam is held. We will add only what can be verified from NBEMS or from reliable candidate feedback. The update will cover:
The official GPAT 2027 exam date, shift details and the confirmed pattern from the new bulletin.
The final paper structure: memory based questions with solutions, number of sections, time per section and any change in marking or subject split.
A topic-level exam analysis from candidate feedback, covering overall difficulty and the types of questions reported. We will not reproduce questions or options.
The dates for the response sheet, provisional answer key and challenge window, with the fee, as announced by NBEMS.
How to check your score from the response sheet and final key.
Links to the official result, cut-off notice and scorecard details, once they are published.
If you have appeared in GPAT and want to help other students, the best thing you can share is a difficulty review and the topics you felt were stressed, not the questions themselves.

The date is not announced. If GPAT 2027 follows a similar plan, expect the provisional key within about a week of the exam, but wait for the official notice.
Use topic-wise MCQ practice and mock tests from reliable providers, plus older papers whose source you can check, such as papers from the NTA years. Solve them in the exam format, with sections and negative marking.
