This photo must be the same as the one uploaded during the NEET application process. The candidate is required to sign across the left side of the photograph, and the invigilator will countersign it during the exam. This affixed photo is collected by the invigilator at the exam centre for verification purposes.
Students must bring one extra postcard-size photograph (4” x 6”) to the NEET exam centre. This photo must also match the one uploaded in the NEET application form. The additional photo is to be carried for other documentation at the exam centre, if required.
To avoid rejection or disqualification, candidates must ensure that their postcard-size photos meet the NEET photo requirement 2026 by NTA. The following are the detailed requirements for NEET 2026 postcard size photographs:
Dimensions: The size of the photo must be 4 inches by 6 inches. The NEET postcard size photo in cm should be 10.16 cm x 15.24 cm.
Background: The postcard NEET photograph must have a plain white background. Colored or patterned backgrounds are not accepted.
Face Coverage: The photo should cover at least 80% of the candidate’s face, with ears clearly visible.
Recency: The photo must be recent, taken on or after January 1, 2026. Older photos are not acceptable.
Signature: For the postcard-size photo affixed on the NEET admit card, the candidate must sign across the left side of the photograph.
Identical photo: The postcard-size photo must be identical to the one uploaded during registration and used for other purposes, such as the attendance sheet and NEET counselling.

Students must ensure that the NEET postcard size photo dimensions are met on the exam day. To ensure that the postcard-size photo for NEET meets NTA’s requirements, candidates need to follow these steps:
Get a clear, visible photo in a 4” x 6” postcard-size photo with a white background, taken on or after January 1, 2026.
Ensure the photo captures 80% of the face, with ears visible, and avoid wearing caps or goggles.
Print at least 4 to 6 colored postcard-size photos (4” x 6”) on high-quality photo paper.
Ensure the photos are clear and match the ones uploaded during NEET registration 2026.
Download and print the NEET 2026 admit card proforma from the official website (neet.nta.nic.in).
Paste one postcard-size photo in the designated space and sign across the left side of the photo as instructed.
Keep one additional postcard-size photo in a secure envelope to bring to the exam centre.
Write the candidate’s name, application number, and roll number on the back of the photo. This is just to be on a safer side.
If the postcard-sized photo for NEET 2026 doesn't follow the NTA's rules, there could be some problems, such as -
While applying for NEET UG, if the postcard size photo is in the wrong size or format, the application might get rejected. The NTA sends an email or text to fix the photo during the NEET correction window
If the photo affixed on the NEET admit card or the one the candidate brings to the exam hall doesn't match the guidelines, there might be a delay, or they might not be allowed to enter the exam room.
