MCC NEET Counselling 2024 Dates (Soon), Registration, Fees, Merit List

The MCC will announce the NEET UG 2024 counselling dates shortly. The complete MCC NEET UG 2024 counselling schedule will be published on mcc.nic.in. In the final hearing, the Supreme Court informed the petitioners that NEET UG 2024 will not be conducted again. Earlier, in an official notice, MCC asked the medical colleges to submit the MBBS seat matrix by July 20 on its official portal.

There will be three rounds of NEET counselling followed by the stray vacancy round. Registrations for NEET counselling will be available only for the three rounds while the stray vacancy round will be for already registered candidates. Details of NEET UG 2024 counselling are given on this page for both All India and all states.

NEET Counselling for All India quota is held by MCC for the 15% seats in government colleges and seats in AMU, BHU, JMI, ESIC, AMC Pune as well as deemed universities. NEET counselling 2024 for each state will commence separately for the 85% seats in govt colleges and 100% seats in private colleges. What are the types of NEET Counselling 2024?

AIQ NEET Counselling:

Conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee/ Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, the AIQ NEET 2024 counselling will be for the following colleges and seats

• 15% All India Quota seats MBBS/ BDS Seats of States,
• BHU OPEN seats - 100 % (MBBS and BDS)
• AIIMS Open seats- 100% MBBS Seats of AIIMS across India
• JIPMER Open quota seats (Puducherry/ Karaikal)
• AMU Open quota seats
• 15% All India Quota seats of DU/ I.P University
• Jamia Open seats- Faculty of Dentistry (Jamia Milia Islamia)
• 15% All India Quota Seats of ESIC
• 100% seats in Deemed Universities
• BSc Nursing programs in selected participating institutes

These seats are domicile-free. Deemed Universities have no reservations and have management and NRI quota seats only. Four rounds will be held under the MCC NEET Counselling 2024.

State-wise NEET Counselling:

Held by respective state medical councils, the NEET counselling 2024 will be for 85% of the seats in the government colleges of the state and 100% of the seats in private colleges. Details of the same for each state are given below on this page.

Since the matter is sub-judice, the NEET counselling dates are not yet announced.

Who is eligible to participate in NEET 2024 counselling?

• Candidates who have qualified in NEET can apply for NEET counselling.
• Eligible Jammu and Kashmir candidates can also apply for All India NEET counselling.
• Candidates who fulfil the state-wise eligibility and domicile criteria can participate in NEET counselling 2024 of their state. Other state candidates can apply for management quota and NRI seats.

NEET counselling 2024 eligibility criteria

1) Delhi University (LHMC, UCMS, MAMC): - 85% institutional quota seats for Delhi candidates (who have passed their 10+2 from Delhi). 15% seats are open to students from all over India.

2) Aligarh Muslim University (AMU):- 50% Institutional reservation for candidates who have stduied for the past 3 years in AMU schools. The remaining 50% of seats are open for All India candidates.

3) BHU:- Open to All India candidates

4) Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi: 47 seats are open to All India candidates. The rest 3 seats fall under JMI internal quota and are open to students who have passed their 10+ 2 from Jamia Schools.

5) IPU University (VMMC & SJH): 15% seats for All India and rest 85% of seats for students who have passed their 10+2 from Delhi.

NEET Counselling 2024 Process

There will be four rounds in NEET UG 2024 counselling including a stray vacancy round. Candidates may note that no seats will be reverted back to the participating States after completion of Round 2. The process for NEET counselling is

Step 1: Registration for NEET counselling

To participate in NEET counselling, candidates must register at mcc.nic.in NEET UG 2024. Applicants must fill out their NEET roll number, registration number, name, mother's name, and date of birth. Next, pay the NEET counselling 2024 fee and security fee online with a credit card or debit card. The NEET counselling fees payable are.

Step 2: Choices filling for NEET counselling

Step 3: NEET UG seat allotment

Candidates must log in and download NEET seat allotment letters as soon as they are released. A free exit is available in the first round, while a forfeiture exit is available in the second round.

Step 4: Reporting at the allotted college

Upon receiving an allotment of seats, a candidate must report to the designated college to complete the admissions processes. Reporting or joining during the first round is not mandatory. Those wishing to take a seat or upgrade must join and report. Seat allocation must be followed by reporting and joining in the second round unless candidates are willing to forfeit their security deposit by opting out. When reporting to the assigned college, candidates must present the originals of the specified documents.

NEET counselling 2024 - What is free exit? What is the exit with forfeiture?

Free Exit (only for round 1) - A candidate assigned a seat in round 1 who does not join/report to the college to which they have been assigned would not be penalised (the security deposit would not be forfeited). Candidates will be eligible for further rounds.

Exit with forfeiture - This means that candidates will not be eligible for refund of the security deposit and fees paid. The condtitions for forefiture are:

• If a candidate is offered a seat in round 2 and subsequent rounds but does not intend to take the seat, they can still exit with forfeiture (losing the security amount deposited) within the period given.
• Candidates joining the allotted seat in the third round will not be eligible to resign/surrender their seats and will not be permitted to participate in further rounds.
• Candidates who do not report for an allotted seat lose claim to the seat with forfeiture of fees and will not be allowed to participate in further rounds.

NEET Counselling Round 1

Registration, payment of fee, choice filling followed by seat allotment. Candidates allotted seats can opt to take the seat, upgrade or exercise free exit to participate in round 2 of NEET 2024 counselling. Candidates who opt to take the seat / upgrade must upload their certificates and physically report to the allotted college.

Note: Candidates not allotted a seat can participate in NEET counselling round 2 directly without fresh registration.

NEET 2024 Counselling Round 2

Fresh registration must be done by candidates who did not participate in round 1. Also candidates who did not report in round 1 of NEET counselling 2024 need not register again. It is mandatory to exercise fresh choice filling in round 2 for all candidates who are participating in the same. After allotment, the following rules apply:

• Candidates allotted a seat in round 2 can opt for willingness to upgrade from round 2 to round 3 of NEET counselling. In such a case they need to physically report at the allotted college.
• Candidates who have got the upgraded seat will have to take relieving from round 1 and join round 2 seat. Such candidates will not have a claim on round 1 seat anymore.
• In case a candidate has been allotted a seat in round 2 but does not report or join, will forfeit the security deposit
• Candidates who are not allotted a seat in round can participate in round 3 without fresh registration.
• Candidates who dont want their round 2 seat can exit with forfeiture of security deposit

NEET Counselling Round 3

Candidates who are participating for the first time must fill fresh registration for NEET 2024 counselling. Registered candidates not allotted a seat in round 1 or 2 need not register again. Choice filling is to be done afresh. Candidates who have resigned or no reported in round 1 or 2 must register afresh with full fee payment. After allotment, rules that apply are

• Candidates who are allotted a seat cannot resign from the seat or upgrade.
• Candidates who have upgraded from round 2 must take the relieving from round 2 and complete joining formalities in round 3 NEET counselling. They cannot upgrade or resign from this seat. They also lose claim to the round 2 seat.
• Candidates who do not join Round 3 seat can exit with forfeiture of fees and elimination. such candidates cannot participate in further rounds
• Candidates who registered for the first time in round and not allotted a seat in round 3 can participate in the stray round.

Final Stray Round of NEET counselling 2024

Fresh registrations will be done for this NEET counselling round. Data will be shared between centre and states after round 3. Candidates mentioned in allotted list of candidates in central or state NEET counselling will be eliminated from the round.

Candidate allotted seats in stray round has to join the allotted seat/college. Candidates who do not join the allotted seat, shall be debarred from NEET examination for one year along with forfeiture of fees.

The rank considered for NEET state counselling is usually the All India Rank (AIR) obtained by candidates in the NEET examination. However, each state may have its specific criteria and reservations for state quota seats.
