Benefits of merging Nursing, Allied and Veterinary exams in NEET 2026

The merger of nursing, allied and veterinary exam with NEET is beneficial in several aspects such as:

    • Single entrance exam for multiple courses: One of the biggest advantages is that students do not have to appear for multiple entrance tests. The NEET result can be used for admission to several health science programmes and reducing exam stress. As the exam follows only the NEET exam pattern, candidates do not have preparation pressure.

    • Reduced financial pressure: Appearing for different nursing, allied veterinary entrance exams requires multiple application fees. Candidates have to spend on different preparation materials and have to pay travel costs to appear for the test. Using NEET as a common entrance exam, candidates have less financial burden.

    • Uniform evaluation process: Since NEET is conducted by a single authority (NTA), it follows a uniform evaluation process. Chances of irregularities that may occur in smaller exams are reduced.

    • National level selection: Since the authority releases a single NEET merit list, this allows students to compete for seats across different states.
