The NEET PG 2025 exam was comparatively easier than last year’s exam. Considering this relatively easier exam, the expected NEET PG cutoff 2025 is provided below.
| Category | Qualifying Percentile | Expected Cutoff Marks (Out of 800) |
|---|---|---|
General (UR)/EWS | 50th | 290 - 310 |
SC/ST/OBC | 40th | 270 - 290 |
UR-PwD | 45th | 250 - 270 |
SC/ST/OBC-PwD | 40th | 235 - 255 |
Considering the expected NEET PG 2025 cutoff, 250 marks in NEET PG 2025 are not enough for getting admission. Candidates belonging to general category might not even qualify the exam and be eligible for the NEET PG counselling 2025. However students belonging to the reserved category might have some chances of getting admission with 250 marks in NEET PG 2025. The category-wise admission chances with 250 marks in NEET PG 2025 is provided below.
Chances: Almost none as the NEET PG 2025 cutoff is expected to be around 290+ for the general category students. This means that with 250 marks, candidates might not be eligible for the counselling. Even if the cutoffs decrease, ranks above 100,000 have very low chances of getting a PG seat.
Possible chances for admission: During mop-up rounds, the cutoff is generally reduced by the MCC. If this happens, there might be some chances of getting admission in lesser-known private colleges or non-clinical branches (like Anatomy, Physiology).
Chances: The chances for SC/ST/OBC category students are low with 250 marks range in NEET PG 2025. However, they might qualify for counselling.
Possible admission chances: Limited to non-clinical or para-clinical branches (such as Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine) in private colleges or state government institutions during stray vacancy rounds.
Chances: Moderate for reserved PwD category students as the cutoff is generally low. Apart from that, the 5% horizontal reservation slightly increases the chances of getting admission with 250 marks in NEET PG 2025.
Possible admission chances: There may be opportunities in private colleges or DNB if the rank fits within PwD quotas, but options are still limited to less competitive branches only.
On Question asked by student community
Yes, MCC can reduce the NEET PG cutoff if many seats remain vacant during counselling. The decision depends on seat availability in each round. Cutoff reduction does not happen every year. Candidates should keep checking the official MCC website for updates.
