There are various specializations which are offered through NEET PG out of which below mentioned are top 5 specializations which candidates can choose to pursue their career.
Radiology: Radiology is a branch of medicine that involves imaging technology in order to diagnose and treat diseases. Radiology is the topmost postgraduate course currently available in India. MD Radiology is available in various government and private medical institutes in the country. One can specialize either in Radio-Diagnosis or Interventional Radiology.
Dermatology: The skin is the largest organ of the human body. There is no doubt that with the changing environment, dermal problems are increasing and this has increased the demand for specialists in the field. MD Dermatology has a lot of scopes in India and abroad. Apart from personal practice, doctors also get hired by cosmetic companies at a very good package.
Medicine: General medicine has been the most opted branch by medical graduates for years. The demand for MD General Medicine is still the same which has made the specialization to be the leading option to pursue PG career. The reason behind this demand is that a general medicine doctor can diagnose the disease and provide primary treatment in every sector.
Surgery: MS General Surgery is one of the most sought courses among medical graduates. Candidates can specialize in various fields while pursuing MS in General Surgery. The specialization program educates the candidates about specific human body parts, diagnosing the disease and surgical procedures to treat them.
Paediatrics: Pediatricians are medical physicians who deal with infants, children and adults till 21 years of age. It is another demanding course through NEET PG that makes medical graduates specialized in diagnosing and treating infections, dysfunctions, injuries, malignancies, and congenital disabilities.
There can be instances where either the NEET PG 2025 exam is not qualified or a candidate does not get a preferred specialization. In both cases, candidates are advised not to be disheartened. One must try again with good preparation and more determination. Although NEET PG scores are required to pursue a specialization, there are other options too. One can consider pursuing a career in clinical practice.
Candidates can also opt for INI CET. INI CET is conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi twice a year for January and July sessions. Admission is granted to Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM), Master of Chirurgiae (MCh) courses through INI CET.
On Question asked by student community
