To get admission to the courses offered by several medical colleges in India, candidates are required to appear for several entrance examinations at various levels. A comprehensive detail of these entrance examinations is given below.
NEET UG is conducted annually by the NTA for admission to MBBS courses in the various medical colleges of India. It is the only exam through which MBBS seats are offered. As per the NEET exam pattern, candidates have to answer a total of 180 multiple choice questions out of 200 from Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects. The NEET syllabus comprises topics from class 11 and 12.
NEET PG is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) for admission to MD/MS seats in various medical colleges in India. It is a national level entrance exam, which is held annually. As per the NEET PG exam pattern, a total of 200 questions are asked and the total weighted score is 800.
To get admission to MDS, MD, and MS degree courses at AIIMS, candidates have to pass the INI CET entrance exam conducted by AIIMS. It is a national level entrance test that takes place every six months. As per the INI CET exam pattern, candidates have to answer a total of 200 multiple choice questions in 3 hours.
