INI CET Good Attempts Analysis 2026:"How many questions should I attempt in INI CET?" is one of the most common questions before and after the exam. The answer is not "all 200". It is the number you can attempt with high accuracy, which is called good attempts. This INI CET good attempts analysis 2026 covers two sessions: the May 2026 exam, which has been held, and the exam listed for 1 November 2026, which has not. For the May session, we use the good attempts figures from Careers360's own analysis. For the November session, there is no real data yet, so the numbers are expectations.

What "good attempts" means. It is the number of questions a well-prepared candidate can answer with high accuracy. It is not an official figure from AIIMS, and it is not a cutoff.

Our INI CET May 2026 exam analysis describes the paper as moderately difficult to difficult, based on student reactions and expert views. It gives good attempts by difficulty level.
Difficulty level | Good attempts (of 200) |
Easy to moderate | 160+ |
Moderate | 150–155 |
Moderate to difficult | 130–145 |
Because candidates found the May paper moderately difficult to difficult, the matching range is 130 to 145 good attempts. Treat the exact upper end as approximate. These ranges are estimates. There are no subject-wise or section-wise attempt numbers.
Nobody can know the November difficulty in advance. We expect it to be moderate to difficult, based on past papers. About one question in three was image-based, multi-statement or match-type in the four past papers we counted, and sections are locked at 54 seconds per question. The May analysis linked above shows how real candidates felt about the earlier paper.
If the November paper turns out like the May paper, the same table applies:
If the paper feels | Expected good attempts (of 200) | Per section of 50 |
Easier than May | 150–160+ | 38–40 |
Like May (moderate to difficult) | 130–145 | 32–36 |
Harder than May | Below 130 | Below 32 |
The first and third rows are our extension of the table, not published figures.
Good attempts matter only together with accuracy. Net marks equal correct answers minus one-third of wrong answers. The table below is arithmetic, not a prediction of any score or cutoff.
Attempts | Accuracy | Correct | Wrong | Net marks (of 200) |
130 | 90% | 117 | 13 | 112.7 |
130 | 80% | 104 | 26 | 95.3 |
145 | 90% | 130.5 | 14.5 | 125.7 |
145 | 80% | 116 | 29 | 106.3 |
155 | 90% | 139.5 | 15.5 | 134.3 |
155 | 80% | 124 | 31 | 113.7 |
160 | 90% | 144 | 16 | 138.7 |
160 | 80% | 128 | 32 | 117.3 |
Two things stand out. First, accuracy can make up for fewer attempts: 145 attempts at 90% (125.7) beat 160 attempts at 80% (117.3), and 130 attempts at 90% (112.7) are almost level with 155 attempts at 80% (113.7). Second, every extra wrong answer costs a third of a mark, so adding attempts at low accuracy does not add enough marks.
Aim per section, not per paper. A range of 130 to 145 means about 32 to 36 good attempts in each 50-question section. Because sections lock, you cannot catch up later.
Take the quick questions first. Facts in Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Physiology are usually quick. In the past papers we counted, these three subjects had the shortest questions and the fewest images.
Mark and move on slow questions. Image and multi-statement questions can wait until the end of the section.
Guess only after removing options. One option out gives about +0.11 on average, and two out gives about +0.33. A blind guess gives zero. See the guessing and elimination strategy.
Rehearse the pace. Use the last 15 days mock test plan and the time management guide.
Real November difficulty. It will be known only from candidate feedback after the exam.
Subject-wise good attempts. The May analysis gives none, so we do not invent them.
Official figures. Good attempts are estimates, not AIIMS data.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
For a moderately difficult to difficult paper, Careers360's analysis gives 130 to 145 good attempts out of 200.
If the paper is like May, about 130 to 145. This is an expectation, because the exam is listed for 1 November 2026 and has not been held. An easier paper would allow more, and a harder one fewer.
Yes. Each correct answer gives +1, each wrong answer deducts ⅓ of a mark, and unanswered questions score zero.
