The INI CET November 2026 exam is for candidates entering the January 2027 session. It's set for November 1, 2026, per the confirmed exam date. Based on how recent sessions have gone, expect something like this:

The admit card usually shows up about a week before the exam. Download and print it the moment it's live. Don't wait for the night before. A printing issue, or a detail that needs fixing, is something you want to catch with days to spare. Not hours. There's roughly 105 minutes between reporting time and gate closing in past sessions. That gap isn't random. Biometric checks, frisking, ID verification — all of it takes time when you're moving that many candidates through. So show up right at reporting time. Not five minutes after. It's the only real way to clear security before the 8:45 AM cutoff.

Documents: The Mismatch Problem That Turns Candidates Away

Most candidates who get held up at the gate don't have a missing document. They have a mismatch. Your name, photo, and signature on the admit card need to match your government ID. Exactly. Spelling included.

• Admit card: an original colour printout. Not a photocopy, not a phone screen. Photo and signature need to be clearly visible.

• Photo ID: one original, valid government ID — Aadhaar, Passport, PAN, or Voter ID. No photocopies. No scans.

• PwD certificate: needed if you registered under the Persons with Benchmark Disability quota.

• Reserved-category certificate: carry the original if you're under a reserved category. It's not always checked, but keep it anyway.

Check each of these against what you actually entered on the INI CET application form. A middle initial on your form that's missing from your Aadhaar. Or the reverse. That's exactly the kind of small gap that stalls you at verification. Fix it before exam day. There's no fixing it at the gate.

Dress Code: What AIIMS Actually Enforces

A lot of what gets shared online as "INI CET dress code" is more rumour than rule. But some restrictions are real, and they're tied to frisking and biometric checks, not personal taste:

• No large buttons, metal zippers, heavy embroidery. They slow down frisking. You might get asked to remove them.

• No thick-soled shoes, no heels. Open sandals or simple flats are safer.

• No jewellery. No watches, smartwatches included. No belts, caps, scarves, goggles. There's no cloakroom at the centre, so any of this stays home, or stays with whoever came with you. Invigilators aren't holding your bangles for you.

• Wearing religious or customary attire you can't remove? Get there early. Extra frisking time is standard here, not a special allowance.

Prohibited Items: The List That Costs Candidates the Most

The electronics ban is obvious. What surprises people is stationery. Unlike a lot of exams, you can't bring your own pen, paper, or eraser.

Here's why that rule catches people off guard. INI CET doesn't hand out a separate rough sheet. All your rough work goes on the back of your own admit card. And you hand it back, signed, once you're done. So think about your rough-work habits ahead of time. Quick calculations for PSM biostatistics questions. Elimination notes on assertion-reason items. Fit it into a fixed, small space. Don't expect scratch paper the way you might have during MBBS internals.

Inside the Exam Hall: No Breaks Between Four Locked Sections

Once you're seated, the checks aren't over yet. A left-thumb biometric scan. A digital photo, taken right at your workstation. CCTV running for the full three hours. You sit wherever the roll number on your assigned computer says. Not wherever you'd like.

Here's what trips up candidates who've only practised on relaxed mock platforms: INI CET gives no formal break between its four 45-minute sections. The next one starts the second the previous one locks. Ready or not. Want a real feel for that before exam day? Practise previous years' INI CET papers under actual timed conditions. Same 45 minutes per block. Not a relaxed, full-length attempt. And you can't step out before noon, when the exam ends. So take your last washroom break before the reporting window closes. Not during the exam.

What Happens If You're Late, and What Comes After

Once the gate closing time on your admit card passes, there's no grace period. Show up even a few minutes late and you're not getting in. Traffic, a delayed train, travelling in from another city — none of it counts as an exception. Plan your commute assuming the worst version of the day. Not the average one.

The exam wraps up at noon. After that, your attention shifts to the result, and if you qualify, to the counselling process that follows. Hold on to your admit card and application details even after exam day. You'll need them again at counselling, for document verification.
