Background wave

Is NEET required for RUHS BSc Nursing 2025 admission?

No! NEET UG is not required for RUHS BSc nursing 2025 admission. The authority on March 6, 2025, through an official notification, clarified that for the 2025-26 session, admission to BSc nursing programmes in RUHS affiliated colleges will be given through the RUHS BSc nursing 2025 exam.

Why RUHS BSc nursing 2025 will not be through NEET 2025?

The authority on February 28, 2025 released a notification in which it was announced that RUHS BSc nursing 2025 admissions will be through NEET UG 2025 scores. However, later on March 6, 2025, RUHS released another notification and announced that admission to BSc nursing programmes in RUHS affiliated colleges will not be done through the NEET 2025 exam.

The authority has provided several reasons behind not considering the NEET 2025 exam for admission to BSc nursing courses for the 2025-26 session, which is as follows -

1. Lack of preparation time for NEET 2025 exam

The NEET 2025 exam date is May 4, 2025 and many students who were only preparing for the RUHS BSc nursing exam complained that there is not enough time to prepare for the NEET 2025 exam. Also, the NEET UG exam is much tougher than the RUHS BSc nursing exam. Hence, the authority has decided not to consider the NEET UG 2025 exam for granting admission to BSc nursing courses.

2. Unavailability of documents required for NEET 2025

Many students claimed that the NEET application form 2025 requires several necessary documents which they have not obtained till the last date of NEET 2025 registration. Due to this lack of NEET 2025 documents required, the authority has decided not to consider NEET 2025 exam for BSc nursing admissions.

3. Difference in NEET UG 2025 syllabus and RUHS BSc nursing syllabus

Another reason why the RUHS BSc nursing 2025 admission will not be granted through NEET 2025 exam is the difference between the NEET syllabus 2025 and the RUHS BSc nursing syllabus. The syllabus of NEET UG is vast in comparison to the syllabus of RUHS BSc nursing.

4. Less time for NEET registration 2025

The last date for NEET 2025 registration was March 7, 2025 and the authority released the notification of NEET 2025 requirement for RUHS BSc nursing 2025 admission on February 28. Due to this limited time of only 7 days to register for NEET UG 2025, the authority has decided not to consider NEET 2025 as the entrance exam for RUHS BSc nursing admission 2025.

Will NEET be required for RUHS BSc nursing admission?

Although admission to BSc nursing programmes for 2025-26 session will be granted through the entrance examination of RUHS BSc nursing, the authority has announced that for the 2026-27 sessions and onwards, the scores of NEET UG exam will be considered for RUHS BSc nursing admission.
