For NEET PG 2025 counselling, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has authorised 2,337 additional postgraduate medical seats, bringing the total to 52,244 seats. With 422 seats added, Karnataka has the most, followed by Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesiology, Obstetrics, and Gynecology are among the MD and MS courses covered by the additional seats. The NEET PG 2025 seat matrix comprises seats under the All India Quota (AIQ), Deemed Universities, Central Universities, and Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS). 1. All India Quota (AIQ) Seats
Fifty percent of the total postgraduate medical seats from all states fall under the All India Quota (AIQ). These seats are open to candidates from any state or union territory. The MCC conducts the counselling process for AIQ NEET PG seats across India.
2. Deemed University Seats
Admissions to Deemed University NEET PG seats are carried out through centralised counselling conducted by the MCC. The number of seats in these institutions varies depending on the college’s capacity and the specializations offered.
3. Central University/Internal Seats
The Central University seats under the NEET PG 2025 seat matrix include postgraduate medical seats offered by Delhi University (DU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). These seats are also filled through the MCC counselling process.
4. Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) Seats
The AFMS seats are also part of the NEET PG 2025 seat matrix round 2. Registration for these seats is done through the MCC website; however, the selection and counselling are conducted separately by the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).
