INI CET November 2026 Last-Minute Preparation Tips: The last week before INI CET is not the time to learn something new. It is the time to strengthen what you already know. The INI CET November 2026 exam is on November 1, 2026. Most candidates lose marks in this last stretch of preparation for the wrong reasons. They switch multiple resources at this time. They panic-read a subject they skipped. They take too many mocks and review none of them. Good last-minute preparation for INI CET is mostly about cutting things out.

INI CET also punishes weak habits more than other PG exams. The paper has four locked sections. Each has 50 questions and 45 minutes. Wrong answers cost you a third of a mark. Image-based questions are there across subjects. Read on to know INI CET last-minute tips built around how this paper actually behaves. What to revise, what to drop, how to use the final mocks, and how to spend the last 24 hours.
The INI CET exam pattern has 200 questions across four sections. You get 45 minutes for 50 questions. That comes out to about 54 seconds per question.
What the exam does | What it means for your last week |
4 locked sections, 50 questions, 45 minutes each | Practise in 50-question blocks, not only full papers |
−1/3 for every wrong answer | Decide your guessing rule now, not on exam day |
Clinical vignettes and images across subjects | Spend revision time on images and cases, not paragraphs |
All 19 subjects appear. | Short subjects need a quick pass, not zero time. |

Revise only what you have already read at least once. Don't go for more books and new topics:
Your own error log. Every mistake from your mocks. Re-attempt only those questions.
Image bank. ECGs, X-rays, CT slices, peripheral smears, histopathology, fundus photos, and skin lesions. Ten minutes a day, no reading.
Tables you made yourself. Drug of choice, vaccine schedules, classifications, staging systems, and screening test formulas.
PSM biostatistics. Sensitivity, specificity, predictive values, and study designs. These are formula-based, so they are quick marks.
Short subjects. Psychiatry, Dermatology, Radiology, Anaesthesia, Forensic Medicine. One fast pass each, using notes you already have.
Drop these: new books, new question banks, and any topic you've never opened. If a topic is completely new on day 5 of the last week, leave it. Careers360's INI CET November 2026 revision strategy covers the wider revision plan.
Count backwards from October 31. Adjust if your exam centre is in another city and you have to travel.
Day | Focus |
Day 7 (Oct 25) | One full 200-question mock in real time. Log every error. |
Day 6 (Oct 26) | Review the mock. Fix concept gaps only. Image bank, 20 minutes. |
Day 5 (Oct 27) | Medicine and Surgery tables and algorithms. One 50-question timed block. |
Day 4 (Oct 28) | Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology quick revision. Second timed block. |
Day 3 (Oct 29) | PSM, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry. Short subjects pass. |
Day 2 (Oct 30) | Error log only. No new mock. Light image revision. |
Day 1 (Oct 31) | Two hours of light revision at most. Pack documents. Sleep early. |
Notice there is only one full mock for the last week. Taking the mock test one day before rarely helps. It tends to shake confidence with no time left to fix anything.
With +1 for correct and −1/3 for wrong, a blind guess among four options breaks even on average. That's not an official figure, though. Here's what it means. If you can eliminate at least one option, guessing is worth it. If you can't eliminate any, skipping costs you nothing.
Write your rule down and follow it in every mock this week. Something like, "Eliminate one, then attempt. Eliminate none, skip." Deciding on the spot, under time pressure, is where marks leak.
You can't go back once a 45-minute section closes. So build a habit for each block. Do a first pass and answer what you know fast. Skip the long vignettes that need a second read. Then return to the skipped ones with the time you've saved. Don't sit on one question for three minutes. It costs you the last five questions of the block.
Practise this on previous years' INI CET papers, split into 50-question blocks. Set a timer for 45 minutes and stop when it rings. That habit is worth more than one extra mock.
Small errors can undo months of work. Do these early in the week.
Download and print your admit card as soon as it's out.
Check that your name, photo and signature match your ID.
Plan your travel to the centre. Assume traffic will be bad.
Keep your ID and admit card in one folder, ready.
Don't bring a phone, watch or your own stationery into the hall.
Keep this simple. Skim your error log in the morning. Look at your image bank once. Eat normally. Stay off group chats where people share unverified exam-day information. Sleep by your usual time. A rested brain reads a vignette faster than a tired one.
