Candidates participating in the stray round counselling of NEET PG should note that there is no “Free exit” in the stray round. This means if any candidate is allotted a seat in this round, he/she must have to join it. Failing to do so will lead to a forfeiture of security deposit and a one-year ban from NEET PG exam. Not all candidates can participate in the stray round counselling of NEET PG 2025. All the details on who is eligible and who is not eligible for the NEET PG stray vacancy 2025 counselling is explained below.
You are allowed to take part in the Stray Vacancy Round if you belong to any of the following groups:
Unallotted Candidates - Candidates who were not allotted any seat in Round 1, Round 2, or Round 3 can participate.
Properly Resigned Candidates - If you were allotted a seat in earlier rounds but resigned through the MCC portal within the official resignation period, you can participate in the stray round. However, the security deposit is forfeited after resignation.
Non-Reporting Candidates (Only Round 1 & Round 2) - Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1 or Round 2 but did not report to the allotted institute are allowed to participate again in the Stray Vacancy Round.
Fresh Registrants - Candidates who never registered earlier are also allowed to apply. MCC opens a registration window for new applicants specifically for this round.
A candidate will be disqualified from participating in the Stray Vacancy Round under the following situations:
Candidates Holding a Joined Seat - If a candidate has already joined any seat in Round 1, Round 2, or Round 3 under either AIQ or State counselling, he/she cannot participate further.
Round 3 Non-Joiners - Candidates who were newly allotted a seat in Round 3 but failed to join the institute cannot participate in the Stray Vacancy Round.
State Counselling Joined Candidates - If any candidate's name appears in the list of joined candidates shared by State counselling authorities, they will automatically become ineligible for AIQ Stray Vacancy participation. This rule exists to prevent seat blocking.
MCC releases the seat matrix for the stray round counselling to help candidates with the choice filling. As per the released MCC NEET PG counselling 2025 stray round seat matrix, a total of 2980 clear vacancies are available for the eligible candidates. New seats may be added further by the MCC till the last date of choice filling.
The NEET PG 2025 stray vacancy round counselling process is completely online and can be done on the official website, mcc.nic.in. The step-wise counselling process of NEET PG stray round 2025 is as following:
Eligible candidates need to complete their fresh registration and pay the required registration fee along with the refundable security deposit within the deadline given by MCC.

After successfully registering, candidates need to submit their preference of courses and colleges in the order of priority. Students should know that the earlier rounds choices (If any) are not considered for the stray round and fresh choices must be submitted. The choices for Stray round should be locked within the deadline given by MCC, otherwise, they are automatically locked by the system.
Once the choice filling and locking process is over, the MCC processes the seat allotment based on the candidate’s NEET PG rank, the filled choices, available seats in NEET PG 2025 stray round, and applicable reservation criteria.
After processing the seat allotment, MCC publishes the NEET PG 2025 stray round seat allotment result online in a PDF format on the official website, mcc.nic.in. Generally the provisional seat allotment result is released first and a grievance window is provided. After that, the final seat allotment result of NEET PG 2025 stray vacancy round is declared.
Candidates who are allotted a seat in the NEET PG counselling 2025 stray round need to download their seat allotment letter from the official MCC portal and report to the allotted college within the given timeframe. There is no "Free Exit" option in the stray round, and failing to join the allotted seat will result in the forfeiture of the security deposit and a one year debarment from the NEET PG exam for the next year.

Hi,
Yes, you are eligible. After completing Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Pathology, you can appear again for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate if you have a valid MBBS degree and registration with the National Medical Commission. However, government rules about funding or seat eligibility may vary.
