NEET UG is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and nursing. After the announcement of the NEET result, the authority prepares the merit list for AIQ seats. The NEET merit list contains the names of qualified candidates, rank and others. Candidates included in the merit list can participate in the NEET counselling conducted by MCC for 15% AIQ seats. The remaining 85% seats are filled through state counselling conducted by respective state counselling authorities. The state authorities are responsible for granting admission to candidates in medical/dental colleges located in a state.
