The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced NEET 2026 new exam city selection rules. As per the new selection criteria, exam city for NEET UG 2026 will be determined based on the candidate’s present and permanent address. While filling the NEET application form 2026, candidates will be required to select only such exam cities which are close to their present and permanent address. Applicants can select any three NEET exam cities.

As per the NEET 2026 new exam city selection rules, from this year, the NEET exam city will be determined according to the candidate’s present and permanent address provided in the application form.
For this purpose, NTA has also implemented Aadhaar-based eKYC and live photograph capture to verify the candidate’s identity. These changes ensure that students are allotted NEET exam centres closer to their verified location, reducing discrepancies and preventing misuse of fake addresses during registration.

Candidates need to select any three exam cities for the allocation of NEET exam centres 2026. The step-by-step process to select the NEET 2026 exam city is as following:
Go to the official website, neet.nta.nic.in
Open the NEET 2026 registration window and complete Aadhaar-based eKYC
Fill in the present and permanent address correctly
Based on the present and permanent address provided, the system will auto generate the list of nearby NEET 2026 exam cities
Select any three preferred exam cities
Preview and submit the application form
There are certain documents required for NEET 2026 application form. However, for the exam city selection, only an Aadhaar card is required for the verification of address. The Aadhaar card is used for verifying the permanent address.
There is no such document required for the proof of present address and candidates are required to enter the present address carefully, as they will be allotted NEET 2026 exam centre based on it.
