    BPT colleges in India: Available Specialisations

    Diploma in Physiotherapy 

    Diploma in Physiotherapy is an entry-level course. It is a 2-year duration course and teaches how to treat patients who have physical problems. People clearing this course can get jobs in clinics, and sports clubs and earn around Rs. 0.50 lakh to 1 lakh. 

    Eligibility criteria

    The main criteria are that the student should have cleared 10+2 examinations in the science stream with biology as a subject.

    Further that the student should acquire at least 50% in their 10 or 10+2 examinations. Generally, it is a merit-based course, but some colleges might take entrance exams. 

    Bachelors in Physiotherapy 

    It is the most approached course when it comes to starting with physiotherapy. It is a 4.5-year graduate course with a 6-month internship included and mandatory. People practising this course are physiotherapists and can work in hospitals, clinics and can even open their physiotherapy clinics. The average salary for the same would be Rs. 3 Lakhs. 

    Eligibility Criteria

    The candidate should have completed 10+2 examinations from a recognized board. The candidate should have taken physics, chemistry, and biology in their 10+2 examinations. 

    The candidate should acquire a minimum of 50% aggregate in their board examination. Many colleges take merit-based admission while some take entrance exams.

    Masters in Physiotherapy 

    A candidate who wishes to master the physiotherapy course should go for MPT. MPT is a 2-year post-graduation course. While doing masters, a student can even do further specializations such as MPT in Cardio-Pulmonary in communication. A candidate after this can get a reputed job at health services and areas. Average salary would be around Rs. 4 to 5 Lakhs. 

    Eligibility Criteria

    The candidate should have completed the bachelor's degree in physiotherapy with the 6-month internship. The candidate should have acquired a 50% minimum aggregate in the graduation course. Some colleges take on merit basis while others take entrance exams. 

    BPT colleges in India: Admission Process 

    There are few colleges which conduct entrance exams for Physiotherapy courses. And states like Bihar have State level examinations. For the national level, there is no particular exam for BPT. Very few colleges may even Demand NEET for the BPT course.
