The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi conducted the INI CET 2026 July session exam on May 16, 2026. As per the media sources, around 90,000 students registered for the exam out of which around 75,000 candidates appeared in the exam. As per the latest update, the authority has released INI CET result 2026 and a total number of 51563 candidates have qualified in the exam.

The total INI CET qualified candidates list is released along with the results. A total number of 51563 candidates qualified in the exam. AIIMS does not release INI CET statistics of the registered, appeared or qualified candidates. Students who qualify the exam will be allowed to take part in the counselling process and get admission for MD, MS, DM (6 yrs), MCh (6 yrs) courses.
There are several factors that influence the total candidates appeared for the INI CET examination.
AIIMS, PGIMER, NIMHANS, JIPMER and SCTIMST are considered as prestigious institutions in the country. To get admission in PG courses, aspirants find it convenient to appear for the examination.
The availability of seats in the above-mentioned colleges also affect the number of students who appeared in the exam.
Candidates who fail to get their preferred specialisation in the NEET PG exam appear for the INI CET exam.
After the declaration of results, the authority conducts the INI CET 2026 counselling in online mode. Candidates who qualify the exam are eligible to participate in the INI CET counselling. Such candidates will be required to fill and lock their preferences of courses and colleges. The allotment of seats is done based on merit list, choices filled by the candidates and availability of the seats in participating colleges.

As per the INI-CET prospectus, the OBC-NCL certificate used for reservation benefits must generally be valid for the prescribed financial year and satisfy the date requirements mentioned in the notification.
