    General dress code guidelines for NEET 2025

    The NTA has set a standardised NEET dress code to maintain uniformity and prevent any unfair practices during the examination. Candidates are advised to wear light-colored, simple clothing on the exam day. The objective of these gender specific guideliines for NEET 2025 dress is to facilitate easy and efficient security checks while ensuring the comfort of the candidates and stop cheating in the NEET exam.

    Dress code guidelines for male candidates

    Male candidates are required to follow the following dress code guidelines -

    • Shirts/T-Shirts: Only half-sleeved shirts or t-shirts are permitted. Full-sleeved clothing is prohibited to prevent any student carrying any unauthorised items at the NEET exam centre.

    • Trousers/Pants: Male candidates should wear simple trousers or pants without multiple pockets. As per the NTA’s guidelines, male students should avoid clothing with zippers, large buttons, or any decorative elements.

    • Footwear: Sandals and slippers with thin soles are recommended. Shoes are not allowed, as they may complicate the security screening process.

    Guidelines for female candidates dress code

    Female candidates must follow these specific guidelines set by the NTA -

    • Clothing: Light-colored, half-sleeved tops or shirts are recommended. Full-sleeved attire is not permitted. Female students should avoid wearing dresses with embroidery, prints, or designs.

    • Bottom Wear: Simple trousers or salwars are appropriate for female candidates. Leggings and palazzos are not allowed.

    • Footwear: Sandals or slippers with low heels are advised as per the NEET 2025 dress guidelines. High-heeled footwear and closed shoes are prohibited.

    • Accessories: Jewelry such as earrings, nose rings, necklaces, pendants,, and badges should not be worn. Also the hair accessories should be minimal and non-metallic.

    Customary and religious attire guidelines for NEET 2025 by NTA

    The NTA respects the cultural and religious sentiments of candidates and permits the wearing of customary or religious attire, such as turbans, hijabs, or burqas. Candidates opting for such clothing must indicate their intention in the NEET application form under the section for customary dress.

    As per the NEET 2025 latest news on NTA’s guidelines, to facilitate thorough security checks, these candidates are required to report to the examination center at least an hour before the designated reporting time.

    Prohibited items as per NEET 2025 guidelines

    • Stationery: Pens, pencils, erasers, and paper are not to be brought, as these will be provided to the students at the centre

    • Ornaments: Jewelry and accessories, including but not limited to earrings, rings, bracelets, and anklets.

    • Food Items: Edibles and beverages are not allowed, except for diabetic candidates, who may carry necessary food items upon prior intimation.

    Students on exam day need to follow certain guidelines for the NEET admit card and self declaration form.
