Compared to previous years, the paper was slightly tougher and focused more on understanding concepts rather than simple memorisation. While the questions were based on the NCERT syllabus, many required logical thinking and application of concepts.
In terms of sections, Inorganic Chemistry was easier, with most questions directly from NCERT and based on facts and trends. Organic Chemistry was more difficult and time-consuming, as it included tricky questions on reaction mechanisms. Physical Chemistry was of moderate level, with numerical problems that tested conceptual clarity.
The paper had a balanced mix of Class 11 and 12 topics. Important chapters included Coordination Compounds, GOC, Hydrocarbons, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, and Solutions. A key highlight was the variety of questions. Assertion-Reason, statement-based, and match-the-column questions were common, making the paper more analytical and time-consuming.
