NEET Analysis 2017 by Resonance: Moderate paper with difficult Biology

NEET-2017-analysis-by-resonanceAfter remaining highlighted in the news for quite a while, NEET 2017 was conducted successfully on May 7 with an overall difficulty level of Moderate. This year, in the national level single medical entrance test conducted by CBSE, around 11 lacs candidates appeared for admissions to approx.63,985 MBBS and BDS seats across the country. Careers360 brings NEET 2017 Analysis by Resonance, whose experts shares that this year Chemistry was the easiest section of the paper, compared to Zoology and Botany which were on the higher difficulty side. “Botany and Zoology were on the tougher side compared to Chemistry and Physics,” says Resonance experts.

NEET 2017 had around 45 questions each from Physics and Chemistry, and 90 questions from the Biology section, which consists of Zoology and Botany subjects. Across four sections, there were questions from class XII and XI NCERT with different difficulty level. The maximum questions from class XI were in Botany section, and from class XII were in Chemistry.

Difficulty Level Analysis: No of Questions

 

Experts at Resonance says that the difficulty level of NEET 2017 was similar to the difficulty level of NEET 1 paper in 2016. According to the team, each question of the paper, across sections, had a different difficulty level. There was easy, moderate, and difficult level of questions across Botany, Physics, Chemistry, and Zoology.

 

NEET had 59 easy level of questions with a weight-age of 236 marks. Similarly, there was 79 and 42 medium and difficult level of questions, with total marks of 316 and 168 respectively. The table below presents total questions across all three difficulty level, with total weightages.
