History of Time bound sections in NEET MDS 2025

The addition of time-limited sections in NEET MDS 2025 is part of a larger effort by NBEMS to enhance the integrity of its computer-based tests (CBTs). This update was first shared on May 4, 2024, and applies to all NBE exams with multiple-choice questions (MCQs), such as NEET PG, NEET MDS, NEET SS, FMGE, DNB -PDCET, GPAT, DPEE, FDST, and FET. This change is a response to new challenges like cheating and question paper leaks that have affected important exams in recent years. By breaking the question paper into timed sections, NBEMS hopes to reduce chances of cheating and create a fairer testing atmosphere.

Key Features of NEET MDS 2025 section wise timing

Some of the key features of the time bound sections in NEET MDS 2025 are as follows -

    1. Sequential progression

Candidates have to mandatorily complete the allotted time for one part before proceeding to the next part. For instance, unless the 75 minutes for Part A is over, students cannot switch to Part B of the NEET MDS 2025 question paper.

    2. No revisiting of the previous section

Once the time for a section expires, candidates cannot return to review or modify answers in that section. The system will automatically advance to the next part of the question paper once the time limit of the earlier section is completed.

    3. Automatic transition to another part

Upon completion of the allotted time for the first part, the next section will start immediately. No break will be allowed between switching from one part to another

Implications of NEET MDS 2025 subject wise time limit

The introduction of time-bound sections in NEET MDS 2025 has several implications for aspirants. Some of these are discussed below -

    • Reduced risk of paper leak - By restricting access to the entire question paper of NEET MDS 2025 at once, NBEMS has reduced the risk of paper leaks. Each part in the NEET MDS 2025 question paper will be locked after its time expires, making it harder for candidates to share answers during mid-exam.

    • Increased pressure on time management - As per the new NEET MDS 2025 exam pattern, wth Part A having 75 minutes for 100 questions (approximately 45 seconds per question) and Part B having 105 minutes for 140 questions (also about 45 seconds per question), candidates must maintain a steady pace while attempting the question paper.

    • Limited review opportunities - Students cannot revisit the previous part once they have proceeded to another part. This inability to revisit previous sections eliminates the option to double-check answers, hence, candidates must be decisive while answering the questions and focus on maximum accuracy within the given time.

In NEET MDS, the All India 50% category rank is your rank among candidates of the same category (like OBC, SC, ST) only for AIQ 50% seats. It helps in category-wise seat allotment during counseling. The lower the rank, the better your chances in your category.

With 211 marks in NEET MDS 2025, getting Endodontics in government colleges is very unlikely due to high cutoffs. However, you may have a chance in some private colleges or deemed universities where the competition is lower. Keep an eye on counselling rounds and management quota seats.
