The NEET PG 2026 exam city slip will now be released nearly three weeks before the exam date. Earlier availability of exam city details will help candidates plan their travel, accommodation and other arrangements well in advance. The early release of the NEET PG 2026 test city information will also reduce last-minute stress, especially for candidates travelling to another city for the exam.
The NEET PG 2026 exam pattern has also been revised. Candidates will now have to answer 180 questions within 210 minutes. The revised NEET PG 2026 paper pattern will provide candidates with more time per question while keeping the overall duration of the exam unchanged. This change is expected to help aspirants manage their time better during the computer-based test.
To strengthen exam security, NEET PG 2026 biometric verification has been enhanced. Candidates will undergo Aadhaar-based authentication during the application process and on the exam day. In case fingerprint authentication is unsuccessful, iris-based biometric verification will be used to confirm the candidate’s identity. The new verification system aims to ensure a secure and transparent NEET PG 2026 exam process.
One of the major NEET PG 2026 changes is the introduction of a state-based exam centre preference system. Candidates appearing for the NEET PG exam could select three preferred states for their exam centre while filling out the application form.
The state mentioned in the candidate’s correspondence address had to be selected as the first preference. This change will increase the possibility of getting a NEET PG 2026 exam centre closer to home and reduce travel-related difficulties for aspirants.
The NEET PG 2026 new changes have been introduced to improve the overall exam experience for candidates. The updated rules focus on reducing travel difficulties, improving exam security and ensuring a more transparent exam process. The introduction of state-based centre preference will help candidates get exam centres closer to their preferred locations, while Aadhaar-based authentication and biometric verification will strengthen candidate identification and prevent unfair practices during the exam.
