As per the latest update, the authority has released NEET PG counselling schedule 2024. NEET PG qualified candidates can register for round 1 counselling till November 17, 2024. The registrations for round 1 NEET PG counselling 2024 started on September 20, 2024.

The NEET PG counselling is conducted in four rounds namely, round 1, round 2, round 3 and stray vacancy round. The counselling of NEET PG is conducted online for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, central and deemed universities, ESIC and AFMC seats, while states manage their own counselling for 50% state quota seats in government colleges and 100% seats in privates colleges, minority institutes, universities established by an act of state, municipal bodies trust, society or company located in the state.
NEET PG exam was conducted on August 11, 2024 in computer based mode. Candidates must keep checking the official website for the counselling schedule of NEET PG 2024. Through NEET PG counselling 2024 admissions are granted to Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), PG Diploma and DNB CET seats. The basic steps involved in the NEET PG counselling process 2024 are elaborated below.
Registration: Candidates need to register on the MCC portal, providing details like NEET PG score, category, and preferences.
Choice filling & locking: Registered candidates need to select their preferred colleges and courses. Candidates must lock their choices within the stipulated time period as, once choices are locked, they cannot be changed.
Seat allotment result: Based on the NEET PG rank, reservation, and choices filled by the candidates, the authority announced the seat allotment result.
Reporting: Candidates allotted seats must confirm their admission by reporting to the assigned college to complete the admission process.

Maharashtra provides a 'Hilly Area Reservation' for medical admissions, mainly for MBBS courses. To qualify, candidates must have studied in schools located in hilly areas as per their parents' domicile.
However, for NEET PG (MDS) , there is no specific mention of hilly area reservation.

NEET PG
while continuing your current MD course in a private college. You are not required to discontinue the MD course before writing the exam. However, if you secure admission to another MD/MS/DNB course through NEET PG and wish to join it, you will need to officially resign from your current MD program.

If you've been allotted a seat in the NEET PG All India Quota (AIQ) stray vacancy round and choose not to accept it, consider the following:
Forfeiture of Security Deposit : Not joining the allotted seat will result in the loss of your security deposit.
Debarment from Future Exams : You will be barred from taking the NEET exam in the subsequent year.
Ineligibility for State Counselling : Data of candidates who have joined seats in Round 3 will be shared with state counselling authorities, and such candidates will be prohibited from participating in subsequent state counselling rounds.
Therefore, if you do not accept the seat allotted in the AIQ stray vacancy round, you will be ineligible to participate in your state's third round of counselling .
