The NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule is set up by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for admission to postgraduate medical courses. As per the latest update, the authority has released NEET PG counselling schedule 2024. NEET PG qualified candidates can register for round 1 counselling till November 17, 2024. The registrations for round 1 NEET PG counselling 2024 started on September 20, 2024.

On December 15, the MP NEET PG round 2 counselling registration will reopen on the Department of Public Health and Medical Education's official website, dme.mponline.gov.in. For admission to MD, MS, PG Diploma, and DNB programs, the Madhya Pradesh NEET PG round 2 counselling schedule has also been released.
The NEET PG counselling is conducted in four rounds namely, round 1, round 2, round 3 and stray vacancy round. The counselling of NEET PG is conducted online for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, central and deemed universities, ESIC and AFMC seats, while states manage their own counselling for 50% state quota seats in government colleges and 100% seats in privates colleges, minority institutes, universities established by an act of state, municipal bodies trust, society or company located in the state.
NEET PG exam was conducted on August 11, 2024 in computer based mode. Candidates must keep checking the official website for the counselling schedule of NEET PG 2024. The basic steps involved in the NEET PG counselling process 2024 are elaborated below.
Registration: Candidates need to register on the MCC portal, providing details like NEET PG score, category, and preferences.
Choice filling & locking: Registered candidates need to select their preferred colleges and courses. Candidates must lock their choices within the stipulated time period as, once choices are locked, they cannot be changed.
Seat allotment result: Based on the NEET PG rank, reservation, and choices filled by the candidates, the authority announced the seat allotment result.
Reporting: Candidates allotted seats must confirm their admission by reporting to the assigned college to complete the admission process.

With a rank of 1760 in the NTRUHS PG management quota (B-category) and belonging to the AU region, getting a clinical seat is possible but mostly in the mid or lower-demand branches. High-demand clinical courses like Radiology, Dermatology and General Medicine generally close at much lower ranks, but seats in branches such as ENT, Opthalmology, Psychiatry, Anesthesia or General Surgery may still be available depending on this year's vacancy movement during later rounds. Keep track of round - wise allotments for clearer chances.

With an All India rank of around 82,471 and UP state rank around 4,633 , your chances for MS Surgery in government colleges are very low. You may get a seat in private or deemed colleges , mainly in UP. Chances in other states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu are lower due to domicile rules and local quota preference.
Choice filling strategy:
Top: Private/deemed colleges in UP for Surgery.
Backup: Other clinical branches (Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology) in private/deemed colleges.
