To be eligible for the INI CET May 2026, candidates must meet the following criterias -
1. Educational Qualification
The candidate must have an MBBS degree to apply for MD/MS/DM (6 yrs)/MCh (6 yrs) courses.
For MDS courses, the candidate must have a BDS degree.
The degree must be from a college recognised by National Medical Commission (NMC) or Dental Council of India (DCI).
2. Internship Requirement
The applicant must have completed a 12-month compulsory internship on or before 31 July 2026.
3. Minimum Marks Required
Candidates need to secure the minimum marks depending on their category in MBBS/ BDS.
General / OBC / EWS: At least 55% total marks in MBBS/BDS.
SC / ST: At least 50% total marks.
4. Registration
The candidate must have a valid registration certificate from the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council (SMC).
5. Age Limit
There is no minimum or maximum age limit to register for the INI CET May 2026 exam.
The registration process of INI CET May 2026 is completely online. The step-by-step registration process of INI CET May 2026 exam is as following -
1. Basic Registration (One-time process)
Go to the AIIMS Exams website, aiimsexams.ac.in.
Click on academic courses and select postgraduate.
Select New Basic Registration.
Create an account using name, mobile number, and email ID.
Note: If any candidate’s basic registration was already approved in a previous session, he/she can directly log in and skip this step.
2. Upload Required Documents
Upload scanned images of Photograph, Signature, and Left thumb impression. The uploaded documents should be in proper size and format.
3. Generate EUC
After the basic registration is accepted, log in to the portal and generate the Examination Unique Code (EUC). This code is required to complete the final registration and is valid only for the May 2026 exam.
4. Final Registration
Log in using the Registration ID, Password, and EUC and fill in details like:

5. Fee Payment and Exam City Selection
Choose the preferred INI CET exam city and pay the application fee online. The category-wise registration fee for INI CET exam is -
General / OBC: Rs. 4,000
SC / ST / EWS: Rs. 3,200
PwBD candidates: No fee
6. Print Confirmation
After submitting the form, download and save the Registration Slip as proof of successful registration.

With a rank of 1375 in the INI CET November 2025 session under the general category, securing a seat in general surgery or orthopedics will be very difficult, but still you have chances in fields like MCh courses or related surgical fields in the counseling rounds.

Based on previous INI-CET trends , a UR rank around 25,686 usually does not get a Microbiology seat in AIIMS institutes.
In most years, Microbiology in AIIMS closes at a much better (lower) rank for the unreserved category. Only the very last round in some years has gone close

If your employer refuses sponsorship, you cannot apply for a sponsored seat in INI-CET or DNB. Sponsorship is given only by the parent organisation.
You can consider these options:
Apply in the general category (no sponsorship needed).
Take Extraordinary Leave (EOL) or leave without pay to do PG.
