On May 17, the Madras High Court ordered a stay on NEET UG 2025 results. The stay court order on NEET UG 2025 result comes after a petition was filed by 13 students regarding exam disruptions caused by power failure and storms. According to the students, the NEET exam held at PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya CRPF, Avadi, Chennai was severely interrupted by power cuts. In addition, the NEET exam centre also lacked power backup facilities which forced students to write NEET 2025 question papers under poor lighting conditions.
The court has stayed the NEET results 2025 and has directed NTA officials to submit its response by June 2. As the chances of NEET UG 2025 result postponement are high, the Madras HC has ordered a temporary interim stay on the NEET results. The next hearing is scheduled for June 2, 2025.

The Madhya Pradesh High Court has allowed NTA to release NEET 2025 results. The court has modified its earlier order and halted NEET UG 2025 results in affected exam centres in Indore only. With the NEET 2025 result stay latest news, the NTA will not release the NEET result 2025 for 11 exam centres in Indore. A petition was filed in Madhya Pradesh HC over the NEET exam inconvenience caused by power failure and others. Due to the power outage, students had to give exams under poor lighting conditions. The petition sought NEET re-exam for the affected students. Despite complaints, the officials did not take necessary steps and allot more time to compensate for the same.
There are high chances over the delay of NEET UG 2025 results. The Madras High Court has sought explanation from the NTA. The court has directed the officials to submit its response by June 2, 2025. Court order on NEET UG 2025 result: Following the Madras High Court order on the declaration of NEET results, the NTA will not release the NEET UG results on time. There might be a possible delay in the NEET result 2025 announcement. The decision to lift the stay on NEET results depends on the final verdict of the court.
NTA’s response: The court has directed NTA to submit its response by June 2, 2025. However, the petitioners alleged that NTA is showing any seriousness regarding the recent issues. If the NTA fails to provide a concrete response within the given time, the court may order the re-exam for the affected candidates which can ultimately lead to the delay in NEET results 2025.
Proof from students: The NTA may ask for proof from the affected students related to the power failure and mismanagement at the exam centres. The NTA may send the special team to the affected exam centres to check the reasons through CCTV footage and record statements from invigilators and other staff deputed at the concerned exam centres. The whole process will take time and which can delay the NEET results.
More petitions filed: More students and activists are joining the NEET issue. Earlier, it was only Madhya Pradesh which ordered the halt to the NEET UG 2025 results. Now Madras High Court has put a stay on the NEET result. The court is looking at the matter seriously, and the next hearing is scheduled for June 2, 2025.
