The National Dental Commission (NDC) has lowered the qualifying percentile for NEET MDS 2026 by 10 percentile for every category, in a letter dated 29 September 2026. The letter was sent to the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The decision is under the DCI's MDS Regulations, 2017 and the 2nd proviso to clause 7(1) of the 2018 amendment. This NEET MDS 2026 reduced cutoff gives more dental graduates a fresh chance to take part in the round 3 NEET MDS counselling 2026. The NDC has asked NBEMS to declare revised results and MCC to act on a priority basis to complete the remaining counselling.

More candidates are now eligible for the ongoing NEET MDS counselling 2026. If a candidate’s percentile falls between the old and the new NEET MDS cutoff, they can now take part in round 3 NEET MDS counselling.
NBEMS will release a revised NEET MDS result. The NDC has asked NBEMS to publish a revised NEET MDS 2026 result based on the lowered percentiles.
MCC has been asked to act on a priority basis. The round 3 counselling will continue once the revised results are available.
NBEMS has not yet announced a date for the revised result. Once it is released, it will be available on the official NBEMS website (natboard.edu.in). Candidates who were earlier marked "not qualified" but fall within the new percentile range should check the revised result carefully.
The MCC portal says Round 3 registration will start after the revised results are received from NBEMS. The reason given is that the percentile for eligibility has been reduced by 10 in each category. This means Round 3 registration cannot begin until NBEMS releases the updated results. No revised round 3 dates have been announced so far.
Check the revised result on the NBEMS website once it is out.
Keep the documents ready such as NEET MDS scorecard, category certificate, BDS degree or internship completion proof, and ID proof.
Stay updated with the MCC website for the Round 3 schedule and registration link.
