About: Karnavati School of Dentistry (KDS), Gandhinagar was established in 2005. The entire Karnavati School of Dentistry campus is spread over 33 acres of land. KSD offers courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels which include BDS and MDS. Candidates who qualified the entrance exam- NEET can apply for admission to the Karnavati School of Dentistry BDS programme. The entrance exam scores of NEET PG are considered for Karnavati School of Dentistry MDS admission.
Careers360: Tell us about your domain and your work profile. At the professional level, did you pursue the same field you were interested or you switched?
A: Hello, this is Dr Yash Cholera from Karnavati School of Dentistry Batch 2018-2023. I am the Gujarat Head of Flash Aligners, I am also associated with a clinic in Ahmedabad and I work as a Consultant Dentist. I am in the same profession, I chose and I also had given a chance at which I was good at and now I am doing both the things hand in hand.
Careers360: Can you briefly tell us about your career path so far?
A: I am right now the Gujarat Head for the Flash Aligners. There are around 600 doctors under me. Whoever requires the aligner contact me and the whole process is done under me. I also work as an Associate Dentist in a clinic where I do all the surgical procedures and pediatric work.
Careers360: Is the industry work different from what you learned at Karnavati School of Dentistry, Gandhinagar?
A: Yes, it is completely different from what we worked on and learned at Karnavati School of Dentistry, Gandhinagar.
Careers360: How do you think your time in Karnavati School of Dentistry has added value to your life, both professional and personal?
A: From my aspect in Karnavati School of Dentistry, you don’t learn the academic part as you learn how to live life, deal with problems, manage work, pressure, stress etc.
Careers360: What was your initial thought process when you joined Karnavati School of Dentistry, Gandhinagar?
A: When I joined Karnavati School of Dentistry, I just thought I wanted to be a doctor. I had no other plans, vision or idea about what I would do in life.
Careers360: You must have spent a memorable time at Karnavati School of Dentistry. Do you miss being a part of it? Share a few good memories.
A: Yes, I miss Karnavati School of Dentistry, especially the friends. Even after the college was over I visited it a couple of times but didn’t feel the same because the people made the college worth remembering it.
Careers360: Briefly takes us through your life at the campus, the activities you used to do and your routine life.
A: We used to wake up just 5 minutes before college started and we used to be always late in class and got punished each and every time then we used to work the whole day and chill and enjoy the whole night. I have done a lot of mischief that you can’t even imagine.
Careers360: Apart from academics, what were the other activities you were involved in and how did it enrich your life?
A: I was the part of Student Council at Karnavati School of Dentistry, I started by volunteering and then ended up as a General Secretary. We used to organise all the events and it was fun enjoying it.
Careers360: How did you keep updated with the industrial requirements and what was the role of Karnavati School of Dentistry in it?
A: We used to attend the conferences and Karnavati School of Dentistry had a programme which always kept us updated.
Careers360: You are a proud alumnus of Karnavati School of Dentistry. What is the best part of Karnavati School of Dentistry from a student's perspective?
A: The best part of Karnavati School of Dentistry is that it taught us how to live life rather than academics. It was a life changing time for me.
Careers360: What is your suggestion/guidance for dentistry aspirants?
A: Live your college life the best because you will be going to miss this.
